An explosion that killed at least five people in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Wednesday targeted a bus carrying military personnel, an official at the armed forces' General Staff said.

The official, speaking by phone from the military's headquarters, was unable to confirm the death toll from the blast, which government officials have described as an act of terror.
