Brittani and Ian McIntire didn't plan on having any more children, but their six-week sonogram revealed that the Kansas couple was expecting twins: Mason and Madilyn.
But each successive appointment just delivered more and more bad news: Mason has a hole in his heart and an abnormal brain, and his growth development is already proceeding much slower than it should.
"He's only weighing nine ounces and his sister is over two pounds," Brittani told FOX8. "His only chance of survival would be heart surgery but they wouldn't do heart surgery because of his brain."
Tuesday, there was a brief glimmer of hope, though: "We didn't really see much, she said there's his hand and there's her hand and it looks like they're holding hands," Brittani said. Sure enough, the couple's most recent sonogram appears to show Mason's much smaller hand wrapped around his sister's finger.
"We know we have a piece of them together that will last forever... and it's special to have," Ian told FOX8.
"It's just nice with everything going on... I know I'm holding him, I'm carrying him but I just want to be there for him," Brittani added. "She's the only one who can actually be there and is holding onto him... so it's comforting to know that if he does pass, he won't be alone."

Thanks.
If it’s a boy and a girl then they’re not identical twins. If they were identical, they’d be the same sex.
The only other option is fraternal.
If this is true, then why isn’t there a pic of the sonogram?
Fraternal twins are made with two separate eggs and two separate sperm make two babies. Each embryo has their own placenta and amniotic sack. Identical twins are created when a zygote (one egg and one sperm) splits and they do share a placenta and amniotic sack. They can hold hands and interact much more than fraternal twins.
This is basic biology. Like *really* basic biology. Like farmyard biology.
There is no way that fraternal twins can ‘hold hands’ as this article claims.
The video link is in the upper right on the page.
Of course not but...
Maybe they are identical and the heavier one just identifies as a girl. /s
It is a sweet story. But wishing doesn’t make it true.
I’ve seen sonograms of identical twins sucking one another thumbs, holding hands, and a funny one where one twin kept kicking the other in the head. (”He’s hitting me!” It starts before birth!)
There are enough lovely truths and miracles out there. Life is precious.
We don’t need to make things up to make that point.
It’s in the video, open the rest of the article to see it.
A heartfelt reminder of what is at stake in the upcoming election.
I know!!!
**** “They have to be fraternal if they are different sexes” ****
? My Brother and Sister are “Identical Twins” made quite a splash in the news as they were the first identical twins born to that Hospital.
-——My Brother and Sister are âIdentical Twinsâ-——
That’s impossible....a male and female baby cannot be identical twins...
Identical twins are from the same zygot that splits in half....same DNA...
I know, I am one....just the better looking one ——: ^ ;
I have no idea what you mean by “F or P”, so I can’t possibly reply to that, let alone show you pictures.
I should think that would have made a splash, since there have only been like three documented cases ever of male-female “identical twins,” which all started off as one XXY zygote that somehow took the Y off of one in the process of splitting.
1. They are wrong about the sex of one of the babies, which still does happen occasionally.
2. The ultrasound image of the twins appearing to hold hands was a heavenly blessing sent to the parents, which reflects the spiritual reality, if not the physical.
The discussion was about Fraternal and Paternal,hope the below helps
F= Fraternal
P= Paternal
I needed a photo for proof of the action mentioned and some one else directed me where to find it
Doesn’t help. Never heard of “paternal twins” before.
