Math my ass.
Push polls are pure propaganda.
A "push poll" is a bogus poll that is used to "push" the person getting the phone call towards voting for a particular candidate. It's not a poll at all, it's manipulative marketing ploy. Push polls, by their very nature, do not result in someone publishing the results.
Example Push Poll:
Push Poll Caller: "Hi, Would you be willing to take a short poll on Immigration to the USA?"
Voter: "Sure"
Push Poll Caller: "Thank you. Marco Rubio says that everyone who has come into the USA illegally from Mexico should be given Amnesty. Do you agree?"
Voter: "Um, no, I don't"
Push Poll Caller: OK. Second quetion: "Jeb Bush said that coming into the USA illegally from Mexico was an Act of Love. Do you believe committing a crime can ever be an act of Love?"
Voter: "No, NO!"
Push Poll Caller: "Ted Cruz has supported fixing America's immigraiton problem by controlling the border, and favors sending illegals back to their country of origin. Do you agree we need a secure border?
Voter: "Yes, I do".
Push Poll Caller: Election Day is tomorrow, are you planning on voting?
Voter: "Yes, I sure am! I'm voting for Ted Cruz!"
Push Poll Caller: "Thanks for taking out poll. Have a nice day".
The polls in the RCP average are all legitimate polls. None are perfect, but history has repeatedly shown that over time, when averaged, they tend to be excellent predictors of actual outcomes.
That's why they are data, and not "your ass", as you so nicely put it.
