Ted Cruz held an unscheduled press conference today, the main purpose of which seems to have been to highlight the fact that the Trump campaign has threatened to sue him over ads his campaign is running in South Carolina, highlighting his pro-choice record. Cruz opened the press conference by reading portions of the letter, and declaring that if Trump filed the lawsuit, he would respond with a motion for sanctions. Take a look:

?????
How did I do that?
.
What happened with the Ivana Lawsuit?
Did Trump drop it , or did he lose?
The Real Estate Mongrel is out of his league.
I'm sure Cruz knows he would win. But I think he's also confident that Trump won't file his frivolous suit because he knows it'll be thrown out for lack of standing.
"....Over the past few decades, the self-proclaimed "very rich" businessman has sued people, businesses and entire cities and countries. He's sued a newspaper, his ex-wife, a quaint business card store in Georgia and a Native American tribe. He's cried breach of contract, government favoritism, fraud, and libel.
Trump sues when he is made to feel small, insufficiently wealthy, threatened or mocked. He sues for sport, he sues to regain a sense of control, and he sues to make a point. He sues as a means of saying "you're fired" to those he does not employ.
But he sues, most of all, to make headlines and to reinforce the notion that he is powerful. Below, I picked some of the highlights, through a review of news coverage of filed and threatened lawsuits.
If you haven't yet been sued by Trump, don't worry, the odds suggest your day might yet come. I expect to be sued for this article."....
Sept 2011: Donald Trump Loses Libel Lawsuit Over Being Called A 'Millionaire'
"A New Jersey appeals court has affirmed a lower court's ruling to dismiss a defamation lawsuit brought by Donald Trump against a book author who claimed the real estate magnate/reality TV star isn't really a billionaire. In a ruling issued on Wednesday, the appeals court affirms that Trump hasn't demonstrated that author Timothy O'Brien committed "actual malice" by citing three unnamed sources who estimated the net worth of The Apprentice star to be between $150 million and $250 million.
Trump filed the $5 billion lawsuit in 2009 over O'Brien's book, TrumpNation: The Art of Being The Donald. The lawsuit was rejected in 2009 by a New Jersey superior judge. Trump then appealed the judgment on the theory that relying on anonymous sources could rise to the actual malice standard needed for public figures to prevail in a libel suit.
But a New Jersey appeals court doesn't see the logic here. According to the decision:......"
The Real Estate Mongrel looks like he is going to stroke out.
Cruz supporters and Trump supporters are attacking each other on this site.
Either the establishment vote consolidates around Cruz or Rubio or Trump wins.
Even though Trump is not going protect marriage or guns or be a forceful on some other issues, he still can shake up the Democratic party and beat Hillary!
Just want to see the fight on the issues, even allowing for the fact that Donald has forced Cruz to defend himself.
No, not all FReepers are fighting each other.
Yes but what were the results with the Ivana lawsuit.
Just curious, because this colors her recent endorsement of the Donald.
Quick! Throw a paper bag over his head, he’s hyperventilating! Again!
“Interesting the Orange One is being directly called out like this. So, whereâs the lawsuit?”
If my experience in such matters is any guide, Trump will either start backpedaling or retreat into the Cone of Silence.
Donald Trump is just pulling Teddy’s chain. He lives rent free in Ted’s head and is running about 4 chess moves ahead at all times. :-)
Largely they are.
Almost as bad as the great purges a few cycles ago.
I don’t know.
But I expect everyone in that family has PTS.
Give it up Ted.
The fine points of the constitution are not frivolous and Trump makes him dance to a tune. Itâs a tactic that Cruz fell for like an amateur. Cruz does not look like a leader if he is reacting to a charge.
