Donald Trump crossed the line at the last Republican debate â twice: when he blamed President George W. Bush for 9/11, and when he bought into the âBush liedâ lie about the Iraq War.
âThe World Trade Center came down during the reign of George Bush,â Trump said, because the president âdidnât listen to the advice of his CIA.â
Sorry: The CIA missed it coming, as did the rest of the US intelligence community. The feds failed to connect the dots and ferret out the terrorists before they struck.
But al Qaeda actually grew â and planned the attack â on President Bill Clintonâs watch. And Clinton-era restrictions on, for example, what the CIA could tell the FBI, helped keep those dots unconnected.
On Sunday, Trump tried to backtrack. âIâm not blaming [Bush],â he said. Right.

Did he?? HOw is it that the Bin Laden family and top Saudis were flown out of the nation when there was a no fly ban. Answer that, W.
Ask any kid who graduated form high school in the past 10 years if there were WMD in Iraq and why Bush went to war there, and you will see the damage done to America by the democrat party
There is a difference between explaining, and defending
Yeah I've seen all the open source stuff- and more- about WMD
but the fact is Bush failed to defend himself and set the record straight. So he ceded the moral ground to the left and where did that leave our vets? I do blame him for being meek and humble when he should have called out the false statements and outright lies and put them to bed
Bush put us in there in 2003.
He should have WON by 2007 OR convinced America of what they were fighting against, what it would take to win, and given America the will to win. Or got us out of there himself. Instead he's ho;holding hands with the Saudi King, serving barbecued bull testicles to Putin at his ranch, and talking about the religion of peace while you stood outside of Walter Reed yelling at crazy women who were saying the same stuff as democrat senators.
So yeah, Obama’s policies have been breathtakingly atrocious but - BUSH must share blame for what happened as his doctrine unwound, and where we are today.
BUSHs second term was a major betrayal of us all on multiple fronts. No more Bushes
It's the do nothing Republican congress, aiding and abetting President Stompy Feet Obama. Those ‘conservative’ stalwarts who promised to check President Stompy Feet Obama but instead put the knife in our backs before the damn votes were finished being counted!
Two lies in the first sentence, I didn’t bother with the rest.
“Nationalism coming back to the surface”
You don’t particularly like nationalism? Why do you think all those hundreds of thousands of soldiers died fighting for this country? They did it to defend and perpetuate this nation and no other. They did it for you, so you would have the right to haughtily smirk at their sacrifice, which is what you are doing.
Nationalism is enshrined in the Constitution. That is why the globalist don’t like the Constitution. Globalists pass laws like TPA and TPP to get around the Constitution. They also pass laws like the Corker bill, that strengthen our enemies and imperil this nation. You are aware of that, aren’t you?
I have a fever and need to go back to bed. I hope that your day is wonderful.
War is not the answer.
“Iraq war was sold and authorized on Saddamâs refusal for UN inspections”
Pat Buchanan said yesterday, on Hannity, that Saddam Hussein offered to allow 1200 CIA agents into his country to look for WMDs. Hussein said they did not exist.
Bad analogy. The ship didn't go down, the ship was attacked. The Captain took immediate action to protect the ship and do damage control. You don't rate a captain on whether his ship was attacked, you rate him on his actions after the attack.
If Trump's statements were "crossing the line" then so have 95% (or more) of the mainstream media (especially the NYT) who have been feeding those lines to the public for 2 decades
I guess this makes Trump guilty of believing what the press writes, which I believe once he sees classified information will be an eye opener to him
So you support someone who is so naive that he believes the mainstream media and you are satisfied that he won't learn the truth until AFTER he is elected President?
Agreed.
Real leaders set a civil tone where things can get accomplished.
Reagan wanted to change much of what was going on in DC but he went about it in a way in which he couldn’t be faulted.
He described it as “sabres by day and cocktails by night”.
He invited leaders of both parties to the White House for drinks and conversation.
“If they can’t speak to each other, how can they govern”?
Obama has been just the opposite.
Not once has he had the Republicans to the White House except to stomp his feet and threaten them.
I believe Trump would take it even further by treating members of his own party badly.
I can imagine him allying himself with whoever will give him what he wants *this week*.
I could be wrong but I haven’t seen anything to make me think otherwise.
He has said he would be the best deal maker ever.
But who would profit, long term, from those deals.
Like you said, Donald Trump sees himself as the *only* winner. Everyone else is a loser.
Yes, we each have free will.
I have found the judicious and thoughtful use of that free will one of the hardest things I have had to master.
I agree that those we elected have, for the most part, done little to nothing of what they promised.
That lack of effort is something that chafes me daily.
Even with that I see no reason for the present incivility.
I reserve my anger and vitriol for them, not others who are disheartened by the low morals and nonexistent ethics of those we elected.
I simply do not see Donald Trump as a uniter.
I look at the way he treats the other candidates and can easily see him treating those who vote for him the same way.
At this point in the primaries he is still allowing the thought of a third party run to be floated “if he isn’t treated fairly”.
Does that mean if someone else is the nominee he wasn’t treated fairly.
Who’s to say that if elected he won’t threaten to change parties if he isn’t treated “fairly”?
Elected as a Republican but threatens to change parties the first time the Republicans don’t give him exactly what he wants when he wants it?
Wouldn’t be the first time he has switched parties.
Be careful what we wish for because we just may get it.
“except for the humiliating Treaty of Versailles and the treatment of Germany by the allies”
You are so correct, there has not been a total defeat of America by a foreign power with a humiliating treaty. I agree.
But our culture has suffered a humiliating defeat by the leftists. True Americans, our values, our borders, and anything good has been turned upside down, inside out and backwards since the 60’s. The public is just as tired of this crap as the Germans were of the Treaty of Versailles.
The people want to return to greatness again.
I am not comparing Hitler to Trump, rather I am comparing how the people felt in Germany which led to Hitler coming to power.
I really do not think Trump will be a Hitler, but will revive America as Hitler revived Germany, only without wars and butchering of innocents. Trump will not need imaginary enemies such as the Jews or Poles. He’s already got them in the leftists and outside interests with regards to trading and border crossings.
Bunch of political blowhards blowing their whistles during campaign season, nothing more.
We were attacked with mustard gas IEDs in Iraq. These were believed to be one-offs where the shells were located with conventional stocks. We have very good intel fof the chemical WMDs shipped to Syria and the nuclear material shipped to Libya starting in 2001. This is all in the public domain.
“Seven years is a long time to hold your anger as the Executive Branch destroys as much of the nation as he can.”
Aided and abetted by the legislative and judicial.
GOPe 2010 Just give us the House so we can stop 0b0la.
GOPe 2014 Just give us the Senate so we can stop 0b0la.
GOPe 2016 Just give us the Presidency so we can fix what 0b0la’s done.
Me to GOPe Screw you, you’ve lied to me for the last time. Trump 2016
“I have found the judicious and thoughtful use of that free will one of the hardest things I have had to master.”
From my point of view, you haven’t done that yet. This ain’t 1980, Tip O’Neil is dead and long forgotten by the Marxists up in DC now.
I’m going to give a guy a pass if he never in his life held a position that gained him access to classified material, so yeah
and from what I know of Trump he is an awesomely smart guy who learns fast and picks top notch advisors, so I expect he’ll get up to speed very quickly when they do start giving him daily intel briefings
I expect he’ll devour them when he sees what he has been missing
if he has to learn after he gets the job so what- Governor GWB learned on the job after the WTC came down,
Based on getting us entangled in Iraq GWB just didn’t learn enough nor did he pick top notch advisors, did he?
That is your point of view and you are welcome to it.
I can look at myself in the mirror and know that I did not take an action out of anger or resentment but did act with a certain amount of discernment.
If you believe otherwise that is your prerogative.
I will not argue the point.
See, that is using my free will.
May the Lord bless you and yours.
You’ll be happy enough when one of your favorite Rinos win.
But you know that in reality a Rino won’t win....so you’ll be just as happy with Hillary.
