You’re wrong. I’ve read Vattel. Vattel says NATURAL BORN is BORN OF PARENTS CITIZENS and BORN ON THE SOIL. PARENTS IS PLURAL meaning both mother and father. At the time the child inherited the citizenship from the father who was Cuba nor maybe Canadian in Cruz’s case. In either event, Cruz was not born on American soil, therefore not natural born.
You guys are so earnest--as determined as Oprah to pounce on a buffet prime rib--that you are willing to ignore the fundamental US Constitution, Art. 2 difference between the terms "citizen" and "natural born citizen"....... If they weren't important, the framers wouldn't have used both of them in Article 2, Section 1, clause 5. Right? They would have jsut written "citizen". But you persist in saying your guy is a Constitutional expert and a Constitutional originalist, and Cruz can spin a Dodge PT Cruzer (heh) on his finger and he can jerk and clean 525 pounds, with one arm, and blah blah blah .... You know that if you admit the obvious reality, that he's foreign born and ineligible, then you might as well stick a fork in Ted because he's done. While we're on the subject of logic--sure, anyone can run, but, uh: what's the point in running if you can't serve? Under law (remember laws?) Cruz would be no more legitimate as president than Obama ... although a significant difference between Obama has refused to admit his foreign birth. Remember the search for the smoking gun proving the Kenyan birth he claimed when it was his advantage to do so? Those silly `Birthers'. Gee ... hopefully this unfortunate matter--driven by Cruz's ambition--will finally be moot by this Saturday evening. Yeah, he's a great guy--a conservative, hard worker and father, hallulejah, uh, homina homina homina, an outsider while remaining RNC, sure ... but he's ineligible.
