If Republican presidential front-runner and business mogul Donald Trump wants to sue Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), over his eligibility to run for president, he's going to have to do so within days.
Wait any longer, and it might be too late to matter.
In a lengthy Facebook post Trump wrote Monday, the GOP front-runner called Cruz "the single biggest liar I've ever come across" and "a totally unstable individual."
Then Trump threatened to file a lawsuit against Cruz claiming he is ineligible to run for president because he was born in Canada.
Legal experts said Trump must act quickly if he's serious.
"It could be that Super Tuesday will end the race, and if he doesn't do it before Super Tuesday then the race is effectively over," Adam Winkler, a constitutional law professor at UCLA, told Business Insider. "If he's going to challenge Cruz's eligibility, he should do so soon."
Rick Hasen, an election law professor at the University of California at Irvine, agreed, telling Business Insider in an email that, "The longer he waits, the more likely a court would say he's waited too long."

Although most legal experts believe that Cruz is eligible for the presidency because his mother was a US citizen at the time of his birth, federal courts have never ruled on a presidential candidate's eligibility based on the Constitution's "natural-born" citizen requirement.
The potential Trump lawsuit wouldn't be the first challenging the eligibility of a candidate, however.
Winkler said Trump will need to prove that he is being "injured" by Cruz being in the race in order to show he has "standing" to sue. He added that courts have ruled that candidates would be injured -- which would involve losing votes and/or money -- because of an ineligible candidate.

>>>”Clearly not natural born.”
There’s not three categories of citizens, only two. You’re either a natural born citizen or naturalized. Cruz isn’t naturalized.
He’s either not a citizen or natural born citizen.
The Usurper is not eligible, either.
One is NATURALLY a US citizen when one cannot possibly be anything else.
Born here of citizen parents.
Natural born citizen.
Naturalized at birth by an act of Congress. Yes.
Cruz is only a citizen by Act of Congress. Naturalized means made a citizen by statute because birth alone is not enough. Clearly Cruz was naturalized at birth because Congress allows this by statute. There is only one citizenship that does not require “clarification” by law. Born on the soil, of two citizen parents.
Trump’s numbers look great and he is in a position to win the nomination. I guess I don’t understand all these threats to sue Cruz. Americans generally only dislike lawyers more than politicians so why tick off the electorate?
Yes, a citizen. Just not a natural born citizen.
It’s not just Ted, man some chick who is one of his “top advisors” was on O’Reilly to address the charges of lying and she was really bad. Horrible, actually. He recited talking points about Planned Parenthood as if she’d never done a TV interview before...or maybe he was just emulating Sean Hannity. She sure didn’t go him any good.
but if one American parent makes you a natural born American then why doesn't one Canadian parent make a natural-born Canadian ?....
if this logic is true ...then if you have one parent of one nationality and one parent another nationality ....you would have to be a natural born citizen of two countries....
and if you had one parent of one nationality and one parent of another nationality and you were born in the third country of neither parents nationality ....are you a natural citizen of three countries?
You’re wrong. I’ve read Vattel. Vattel says NATURAL BORN is BORN OF PARENTS CITIZENS and BORN ON THE SOIL. PARENTS IS PLURAL meaning both mother and father. At the time the child inherited the citizenship from the father who was Cuba nor maybe Canadian in Cruz’s case. In either event, Cruz was not born on American soil, therefore not natural born.
Nope, but djt he seems to bankrupt them from time to time
Trump Taj Mahal 1991
New York Cityâs Plaza Hotel 2004
Trump Entertainment Resorts 2009 (he and his daughter that he thinks is hot..ewww left board just before bankruptcy)
Seems that he is good at letting others hold the bag.. and fix his messes including surprise to every one I am sure CITIBANK and Prince of Saudi Arabia Walid bin Talal
RE: if one American parent makes you a natural born American then why doesn’t one Canadian parent make a natural-born Canadian ?....
Well for one, each country’s laws are different.
I spoke to a Japanese once and was told that being born of a Japanese mother does not make one a natural born Japanese.
I think there are a lot of people who have learned something about the constitution and Vattel as a result of this. at least I hope so.
Liar! Liar! Liar!
Sue! Sue! Sue!
Code Pink! Michael Moore! Harry Belefonte!
Make America Great Again????
>>>Clearly Cruz was naturalized at birth..
No, there is no such thing.
One is either born a citizen or goes through the process of naturalization. There are clear requirements for becoming a naturalized citizen:

Trump all blow, no go.
If things hadn’t gotten so ugly between Trump and Cruz, I’d have been tempted to think Cruz knew he wasn’t eligible but ran anyway, in league with Trump, and closer to the end would withdraw from the race and give his voters to Trump. I’ve always wondered what Cruz talked about with Trump when this campaign first started. Cruz would make a fine AG or Supreme Court Justice. Time will tell.
Yes, born a citzen, thanks to Congress. But NOT A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN BY ANY MEASURE.
Your back to arguing there are three categories of citizenship.
There are only two.
The man is worth 10,000 million dollars, none of it made via some internet website.
