Coburn: Trump-circulated quote attacking Cruz 'absolute fabrication'
Washington Examiner ^ | 2/16/2016 | Al Weaver

Former Sen. Tom Coburn is angry about being quoted in the latest Donald Trump attack on Ted Cruz.

Coburn called the quote an "absolute fabrication."

As part of his never-ending criticism of Cruz, Trump's Twitter feed retweeted and pushed a quote ostensibly from Coburn criticizing Cruz as "one of the most dishonest people" in Washington. Coburn never said this.

----snip---

Trump retweeted his social media director Dan Scavino, in turn quoting Coburn talking about the Texas senator. "He is, without a doubt, one of the most dishonest people in D.C.," read the quote Scavino attributed to Coburn. However, the quote appears to come directly from progressive website ForwardProgressives.com and writer Allen Clifton, who used the exact language to describe Cruz.

“Trump is jumping the shark for me now, but I will always appreciate the role he played in marginalizing Jeb.”

Yeah that’s about where I’m at with him now, too. But I guess the Trumpbots don’t really want us for the general, anyway. As Rush said, they’re making a play for the Indies, Dems and Code Pink voters — that’s their coalition now. So for the first time since I’ve been old enough to vote, I may be sitting this one out.

I don’t have any problem being informed. I just don’t have time to sit through a 1.5 hour youtube.

And it will burn up my gigabytes of download.

So, there you go.

But you can go to the listings for 2007 and see Trump on them as a billionaire. That was prior to any need to prove wealth for a presidential run.

Lankford added that there is not widespread support for, and he is opposed to, an amnesty program, but that does not mean there should be absolutely no path for some who are currently unauthorized immigrants.

“Take the 11 million who are here illegally, does that mean that all 11 million cannot be citizens? No,” he said. “I think there have been some people here who have been engaged, follow laws, all except for the entry laws, which is a misdemeanor, ... . What do you do in those situations? ... What do you do with an infant? There’s a lot of questions we need to process through.”

I’ll dispute that. I’ll bet Trump does hammer staffers who are sloppy.
Funny how often the Trump fans have to rely on projecting their own beliefs and opinions on Trump in order to rationalize their belief in him.

I’m sure Trump will be apologizing to Cruz any minute now.

Cruz didn’t confirm the quote so Trump is an outrageous liar and is stealing votes from Cruz.

Hell, the real quote is even better...

"When you tell people you can accomplish something that you can't, for example, shutting down the government over the Affordable Care Act," Coburn said, "you create greater disappointment in the hinterlands, because you gave them a false hope, knowing that you couldn't accomplish it, but it was about yelling, and screaming, and waving the flag.

"I came out of the Senate with one of the most conservative ratings ever in the history of the Senate. You know, it was like 98.8% in terms of conservative," he continued. "And yet, I compromised all the time to accomplish things that were good for the country."

This is one instance in which I think the Cruz camp actually has a point. The Trump campaign has confused the writer’s words for the Senaror’s.

However, Cruz has absolutely the worst campaign in history. His manager, Rick Wilson is on CNN complaining about it and ended up trying to explain why he’s lying about Trump’s position on Planned Parenthood.

Only a campaign this inept could take the moral high ground and walk away 10 minutes later having branded itself a liar.

Cruz has been really ill served by this guy.

Took me 2 minutes to find this so far. It’s not like Coburn has never said Cruz is dishonest. I like Cruz, but the link shows at least one time where Coburn called Cruz dishonest.

http://www.msnbc.com/.../sen-coburn-cruzs-ploy-was-dishonest

Here’s another one: Coburn blames the “Cruz Effect” for disappointment in Congress. Looks like Coburn isn’t Ted’s best friend in any way.

So is Trump supporting or not supporting Planned Parenthood today? As you know, it changes from day to day.
