I guess it falls into the view that I hold, that he is a populist, and not necessarily a traditional conservative.

I have to bank on the Immigration and Second Amendment issues, those are my primary concerns.

I do have concerns about parts of his agenda. But he’d be worlds better than Clinton, Sanders, or Bush.

I agree he would be better than Bush Clinton or Sanders.

I’m not sure I share your faith in his second amendment views however. He strikes me as a typical New York State Rockefeller republican who will start calling for “assault weapons” bans as soon as it becomes politically expedient.

Trump is still my 2nd choice, but I have growing concerns. We could reach a point where he nudges himself to the left to a degree that his supporters here on FR become extreme right traditional conservatives by comparison, and those issues that are your primary concerns could become sacrificial for his populist stance in order to get elected. Unfortunately, I'm predicting that based on his tacking left.

You are right laz, he is as populist.

As a populist he is going to see who did the bleeding and dying in Iraq and for what? To come home to a country that won’t care for their wounds (the va) and has shipped their jobs overseas or given them to illegals.

The whole thing was a scam and folks were suckered in by their love of country and their patriotism. Global elites made money off of it but what did the common man get? Nothing.

If bush really cared as much as he pretended he would have made damn sure the va was in tip top shape when he left office. He didn’t.

Talk is cheap and that is all the Republican Party has given us for 20 years. They can go to hell.

IIRC Trump supported the assault weapons ban which means any gun the govt decides to call an assault weapon can be banned even a single shot .22.

As far as immigration, Trumps touchback amnesty will bring around 60 million 3rd worlders to this country legally for the rest of us to take care of with govt handouts.

You’re a sucker if you think Trump will defend the 2nd Amendment.
