It certainly isn’t odd for an 80 year old to have a heart attack or whatever it was.

If he had shown some significant signs of heart failure or was infirm, I would agree. But all signs pointed to the fact that he was pretty spry for an old geezer. Generally people that age who are not otherwise unhealthy die of heart attacks when they over exert themselves, but not when they are sleeping.

This is a very mysterious death. And a very convenient one as well.

I agree. Apparently, he was in Texas to go hunting, not a sport for an infirm man.

Better to just do the autopsy.

The only advantage to not doing the autopsy would be a possible public outcry of conspiracy. That would justify holding up any appointment of any replacement.

You can’t have a suspicious death, a suspicious burial, and then allow a nation-changing decision to be made by a radical who was on the exact opposite side of the law as the deceased possible victim.

Incidence of progressive “silent” ischemia (low to no oxygen in the heart muscle (and/or the brain), is rather high in chronic, overweight smokers. By the monoxide from the smoke, by the potential sleep apnea (loooong pauses in respiration while sleeping causing extremely low oxygenation of tissue).

The personal physician report should help alleviate some of this mystery.

Have always raised an eyebrow to the expression “died peacefully in their sleep” when the person was completely alone, apparently. No wife present to say-— yes, he did. Or anyone else for that matter.

Sleep apnea— stopping that will get one many more years of life and recovered un-oxygenated tissues in the heart and brain. Just saying.
