The senator's super PACs have launched an unprecedented ground effort in South Carolina and seem intent on going where few super PACs have gone before--door knocking.
We all know super PACs have permanently changed the face of American politics. But in South Carolina, right now, we're getting a preview of the unprecedented ways they can alter a campaign.
South Carolina, as you may know, is kind of a big deal. It has a large population--4.8 million people--and a bad reputation because it's a place where candidates love to break out their dirtiest tricks.
Or, in the case of Ted Cruz's super PACs, their most experimental. The cluster of well-funded super PACs boosting Cruz's candidacy is trying out a new tactic in the Palmetto State, indicating the extent to which super PACs are encroaching on traditional campaign turf.
And it has Cruz's rivals scared.

Come on, we can do better.
Yeah it will, voters will say one thing and vote for Trump anyway.
Guess paid shills going door-to-door to apply pressure to voters on the behalf of billionaire Super PACs is called “grassroots activism” now.
We’ll find out soon if it’s a good strategy, or backfires completely.
Robert Mercer an Evil Manhattan Hedge Fund Billionaire with a 6 Billion dollar IRS Tax Fraud give Teddy 11 million dollars and then set up his Trump smear OAC machine with Dark funds from fellow evil New Yorkers .
DC insider Ted runs a great Con !

So what will Teddy Owe Robert Mercer in return ??????
Gee I wonder if his 6 Billion dollar Tax Fraud problem will go away !!!!!
Uhh, that’s kind of what happened in Iowa, except the opposite. You know, say you are gonna vote Trump, and then vote Cruz.
A week long assault to intimidate? Subtle soft threats? Or guilt tactics? Or just plain lies?
Lock the doors, ignore robo calls and just get a bunch of good books.
I think this might be one of those election years in which I will have to post a sign on my door telling political “door knockers” to get lost.
I already have an aggressive call blocker on my phone.
What happened to the ground game in New Hampshire? John Kasich beat him for second?
This is also becoming a time i am ignoring more and more heated internet forums, they are out of control, shill posters worse than a heavy equipment auction.
I bet they’re collecting as many names and addresses as possible regardless of how they’re received. Cruz’s campaign manager’s company Axiom has a direct mail operation. I’m sure he gets an extra few cents from the Cruz war chest for each snail mail spam delivered.
Now Cruz might only lose by 18 points instead of 22. Fox will report that Rubio “surged” to third place, ignoring Trump and Cruz.
In my upscale neighborhood we occasionally get door-knockers for contractors, despite the community posting signs against it at the entrance. Yelling at 'em only gets me upset, so I smile and shake my head and they nod and go away. Never hear what they have to say. So, I doubt if these canvassers just go to single identifiable houses. They do the entire community.
Cruz's buddy, ole 9 billion dollar tax cheat Mercer, has got to get Cruz elected or he will have to belly up the cash. I think if you add it all up, boots 'n belly Cruz has more donor slush working for him than Jebby. Cruz is the new political televangelist! Soon I expect a private plane with 'armor of God' written on the side of it. Point being, religion pays in politics too!
We have such a sign, telling politicians that knocking on our door GUARANTEES a vote for their opponent; missionaries that they must physically manifest the power of their God or Gods, or be sacrificed to ours; and to salesmen that they will be composted.
They STILL knock.
But, hey, the garden has been AMAZING. . .. (evil grin)
You can hit abuse on yourself, and ask this dupe post to be pulled.
I sympathize with you McGruff, but that’s old school.
No one looks for duplicate threads any longer...
I think a LOT of threads need to be pulled.
Some are deliberately inserted to create antagonism.
McGruff. Cruz posters don’t care. They do this all the time. Post the same article over and over and then when they beat that to death, they find a variation of the topic from another news source. TBBT is one of the worst purveyors of this.
I believe it has and will. The largely under reported story is how well Ted Cruz performed in NH.
Unbelieveable really. Ted Cruz came in a strong 3rd over rivals Rubio/Bush. Iowa win, strong performance in NH...I believe will translate to a 1st or 2nd place win in SC.
Super Tuesday will be the story to beat all stories. I have a gut feeling the Donald will be yuuuugely humbled on this day.
Not that I’m against his nomination, I just don’t think the guy has the character, level headed mannerism to be president. If he makes the nomination...I’ll support him in the general, but I think this is a YUUUGE IF.
