The antiwar morons of 2003 were antiwar because Bush was pro-war. If Bush had been antiwar, the morons would have accused him of dereliction. Whatever Bush was for, they were going to be against.

Where was this antiwar movement complete with puppets, burning Obama effigies, and Nazi symbols when Obama & Hillary bombed Libya, supported a Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt, drone killing people all over the Middle East, and bombarding Syria?

He believes in their conspiracy theories, and like them the fact that the Democrats voted for the war and claimed Saddam had WMD is forgotten. He was funding them then. They could say what they wanted about WMD without him caring. His mouth was trained to bad mouth Bush. It still is. He’s a fraud. For him Democrats get a pass, it’s Republicans he blasts.
So, unless you’re a war lover, who has no problem with the senseless death of American soldiers, and you think the war in Iraq was really, really great, you’re a code pink kook.

Easy to second guess Bush now. We had a variety of views here at the time but mainly I think we missed the big picture. None of us could have foreseen a closet Muslim president helping to empower the MB, ISIS sponsored by Sunni elite, etc. Bush gave him some of the precedent to do that. Bush’s nation building was not too different from the Arab Spring and may have helped feed it.
In hindsight, the Iraq war, without occupation and confiscation of the oil was a fool’s errand. Saddam had tried to have GHWB assassinated and that was GWB’s ill advised motive. Iraq was never a threat to the US. Only to Iran, our worst enemy in the region. Totally stupid. I was fooled like the rest of us. But, I can admit my mistake in supporting GWB’s war. When will the rest of you?
