If he wanted to say that he didn’t think there had been WMDS beforehand, he might be on legitimate ground. But no, he has to go to “Bush lied†just like a good lefty. What no one seems to remember is that Colin Powell listed 17 reasons for that war, of which WMDs were a fairly minor one. The main reason was that Saddam was sponsoring and harboring terrorists. And he was in violation of the 1991 peace agreement and 17 UN resolutions. That’s reason enough.
We were in the KSA for five years from 1980 on. I can remember being VERY glad that General Powell was on our side. He KNEW what a maniac Hussein was.
