I looked up the word ‘sleazy’ and sure enough there was a picture of Schumer.

In a sane and constitutional environment supreme court justices would be apolitical. But that’s not the environment that exists. Therefore, given that the supreme court has been allowed in the past to make laws and render unconstitutional decisions, the senate cannot be too careful in their advice and consent role regarding supreme court justice appointments. There’s no doubt that 0bama would nominate the most radical, anti-constitutional liberal he can find. 0bama has two too many appointees (Kagan, Sotomayor) on the USSC already. 0bama must be prevented from appointing anyone else to the USSC.

So the Republicans block Obama’s selection resulting in a recess appointment that lasts till January 2017. A Republican wins the White House and the Democrats filibuster his nominee, resulting in a recess appointment that last until January 2019. We may wind up doing away with lifetime appointments to the court through filibuster.

Yup, I despise the ‘Rats, as well. Some more than others. And Schumer is one I despise to the nth degree.

I don’t think the Rats/Uniparty have anything to worry about. The Republicans will give them whatever they want this year re the SC nomination/confirmation. Cruz and his buddy McDonnel will help if they haven’t already been working with Obama on this. Don’t forget: Roberts was recommended to us by Cruz and upon that recommendation many of us accepted Roberts. Cruz COULD have warned us, but like his lies and dirty tricks in this campaign, he didn’t.

If liberals didn’t have double standards, they won’t have any at all...

I hope more information on their history of obstruction becomes available. The internet right now is filled with nonsense condemning republicans for even suggesting that confirmation be delayed until after the election. So much at stake....I hope the republicans find some sand.

Say he nominates a judge. He goes into the confirmation process a guaranteed NO vote, if McConnell is to be believed.

First off, Mitch McConnell is never to be believed (unless he is making a promise to Democrats behind closed doors). If this ever gets to a floor vote, the prospective nominee WILL BE CONFIRMED. The Dems will only need four Republican votes to get a confirmation. Only four. So how do you think McCain, Graham, Kirk, Collins, Cornyn, and Murkowski will vote? I count all six going with the Dems.

The only way to stop this is to prevent a floor vote. If Obama makes a recess appointment, let him. That helps us. But by any means necessary, do not let an Obama nominee make it to the Senate floor.

And here's more bad news for 2017. Of the 34 Senate seats up for re-election, 24 are currently held by Republicans. Only 10 held by Democrats.

If I recall correctly, didn’t Dingy Harry keep the Senate in session to prevent GWB from making any recess appointments?

Republicans should “bork” Obama’s nominees.

Just think that was 18 months before Bush left office.
