I wonder if there is a brigade of Freepers that think Vietnam was a great success too?
Of what benefit to the people of the USA or the world was that colossal endeavor?
What did we gain that was worth 4,000+ lives and 40,000 wounded? Not to mention the wear on equipment and $4 trillion.
Egypt, Lybia and now Syria are merely extensions of that original over-reach...dominoes of logic. And now it could extend to existential war with Russia because of stupidity.
Our founders would be appalled.
Trump is the only person in this race that understands that.

The war itself may or may not have been just. I was just a little teenage brat playing with my YuGiOh cards at the time, so I’m going to keep my mouth shut about that.
The rollout seems to have been an absolute disaster. Our soldiers were thrown into a war with no objective for winning and hamstrung by regs to boot.
Politics makes unlikely bedfellows, it seems. They hated the war because they’re a bunch of Muslim-loving communists who despise all things not super-left. The rest of us that you are so snottily dismissing don’t like what the war turned into because we’re Americans and hate our brave young men getting killed for political points.
