I can almost understand (but never forgive) people with no military service doing this.

What I can't understand is people with honorable service, whether it be 2 years or 30, not being proud of what they did. I'm proud of my 20 years and 24 days as a 63B5M and my extremely small contribution to the victory in Desert Storm as an adviser attached to a Saudi Mech Inf Bde at Al Khafji.

I half joke that Viet Nam was lost by Personnel, assigning only Huey door gunners and tunnel rats when so many cooks, mechanics, and clerks (not to mention regular grunts) were so badly needed.

And, if the Navy hadn’t sent so many hundreds of thousands of SEALs over there, they would have had enough sailors to man the ships for ordinary combat missions. /s
