The Turks and Saudis had better watch out for the Russians. They will get their clocks cleaned if they cross swords with the Russians. Yes, Turkey is part of NATO, but that organization is too atrophied to fight even the Russians. Besides, none of the Euros want to think about anything except their welfare checks arriving on time (and their self-infliced Muslim migrant problems).

Everybody wants to smack ISIS, but the Saudis and the Turks are no great friends of Russia or Iran or their puppets the Assads. Once ISIS is gone, it will be once again the Sunnis against the Shiites, with Russia on the side of the latter.

The Turks are not Arabs and the Turkish military is no joke. The most serious military in the region aside from Israel. A conventional arms fight between Russia and Turkey on or next to the latter’s home turf would favor Turkey. The Russians have had issues fighting Chechen bandits and Afghan tribesmen and their best success against disorganized Ukrainian forces. The Turks are for real. Which is why this situation is dangerous. It’s hard to predict what Putin will do if his strong man aura is busted.
