Ted Nugent Isn’t Just an Anti-Semitic Halfwit. He’s Also Bad for Guns.
Tablet ^ | 2-12-16 | Liel Leibovitz

Posted on 02/12/2016 5:31:41 AM PST by SJackson

The rocker’s latest vile campaign targets Jews, but it hurts Second Amendment supporters most

Mark Twain, who knew a thing or two about idiots, famously warned his readers not to argue with fools; do that, he quipped, and onlookers may not be able to tell the difference. So it's with much trepidation that I'm addressing Ted Nugent's latest outrage: having previously written a song that advocated handcuffing and raping underage girls, and having allegedly put his passion for prepubescence into practice by engaging in sexual conduct with a twelve-year-old--illegal, immoral, inconceivable to any conscientious human being--the degenerate rocker posted anti-Semitic drivel on his Facebook page earlier this week, accusing twelve prominent Jews of being "nazi gungrabbers" and overall traitors to the American project of life, liberty, and the pursuit of firearms.

(Flickr / Mike Licht)

Now, I love guns. I am a proud and enthusiastic member of the National Rifle Association. I believe every man, woman, and child--particularly those who happen to be Jewish--should be well-armed and well-trained. I am about as rigid an advocate of the Second Amendment as one can get, and I have no particular political love for the twelve officials and activists named by Nugent. And it's because I hold these views that I feel very comfortable saying that Ted Nugent isn't just a disgraceful human being (which is self-evident) and anti-Semitic scum (which should be obvious by his decision to refer to Michael Bloomberg as "the mayor of Jew York City" and an Israeli agent who helped orchestrate 9/11) but also a real shande to anyone seriously committed to the right to bear arms.

The liberal caricatures aside, most of us gun enthusiasts are reasonable, responsible people, and many of us see owning a firearm as both an expression and a protection of our liberty. The freedom we wish to defend is the freedom to live safely and with dignity without undue harassment. When a bigoted buffoon like Nugent makes his incendiary statements, he's not only embodying the vilest stereotypes used to marginalize pro-gun arguments but also undermining the very foundation of the pro-gun argument itself.

Nevermind. This is America. When hateful pricks like Nugent rise using poisonous propaganda, at least we'll be able to arm and defend ourselves.

I never did either. Imho, he doesn’t always express himself perfectly. I’ve been reading his FB page for a number of years. He seems to be a good guy.

I don’t personally know any perfect people. Ted is a patriot.

I don't think so, could you explain.

As I've noted, I find his characterization of Jewish victims of the Holocaust more offensive than his publication of neo Nazi antisemitism, which from his Facebook page he supports.

May I ask you a question Ted hasn't addressed? You don't have to answer.

There were more than a couple Christian victims of the death camps.

OK, you support Ted's position, the Jews had no souls

How about the Christians? Did they have souls?

And this is Ted's post, not something he lifted from a neonazi site, so the excuse that he doesn't believe in Jewish conspiracies to ban guns and take down the Twin Towers don't fly. Though IMO, no way he didn't look at what he was posting, if he didn't, shame on him.

And good for groups like the GOA and JPFO for condemning him. Shame on the NRA for wimping out.

Sorry, presuming you looked at Ted's distribution of neonazi propaganda you know perfectly well it wasn't directed at "liberal Jews", it was directed at Jews, the conspirators attempting to ban firearms in America.

It's really simple, and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that your comment wasn't meant in the sense of advancing the intended Jewish conspiracy, irrespective of Jews positions on firearms.

If you don't see the it as referring to Jews, all of them, why? Are you English challenged

That I'm exploiting victimology, you could attempt to back that up.

You could answer my last post too, which related to Ted's direct comment, do Jews have souls? Jewish victims of the Holocaust, souls? If no, how about the Christian victims? If yes, no more classic antisemitism than Jews have no souls.

Good post. Shouldn’t be surprised, many Freepers share his views. And you’ll see the left painting gunowners and Republicans with this clown’s failings.

You are correct, but by definition you won’t convince the believers.

The second amendment is in the constitution. No one person can change that reality. Nugent also has free speech. It is in the constitution. Although he makes himself look like an idiot, that is also his right.

No one in has said he doesn't, here or on the many articles on his outburst. And his critics have free speech too.

BTW, plenty on the left would love to change the reality of the 2nd amendment

From what I remember...Ted actually saying. He had sex with a 16 yr old girl...in Hawaii a long time ago. At that time a 16 yr old girl was of legal age there.

In Ted's defense...back when I was 19-20...I knew some 16 yr old girls that looked 18-20....

FWIW-

Seen it. As I’ve noted I was never a fan, never voted for him on the NRA board because of other transgressions. But he was entertaining. Candidates and the NRA should have the sense to stay away from loose cannons with highly questionable histories. But if they’re popular, they don’t

I can’t find a commendable thing about the photo or postings at #67.

In fact, it embarrasses me that it is even on Free Republic.

I don’t know Nugent or what he actually believes, so I am not going to defend him. I expressed my thoughts regarding the picture. I couldn’t care less what befalls the people in it. They are against the Constitution, so I am against them.

It puzzles me, when Jews who suffered so much during WWII, want to remove the ability of self defense from the people. The Jews in the picture are either idiots or power stricken. I will not include them in the small group of freedom loving Jewish friends that I have. One is a socialist, four are conservatives and two are liberals. We are working on the socialist.

1. First off, it used the Israeli flag in connection with various liberal politicians who are not remotely Zionist.

Well, that's true. But Hitler didn't exempt WWI vets regardless of their honors from death. Though I agree with your other points, that makes them irrelevant. When the bigots whose position advocates decide to rid us of liberal Jews, as a conservative, gun owning, veteran Jew, I know I won't be exempt. And I know non-Jews would support me, I wouldn't trust Ted or his supporters today.

You ignored all my points.

I don't like Bloomberg, but he's not an Israeli agent, nor was he responsible for 9/11. You didn't address my opinion about whether Jews have souls, Ted Nugent's direct comment.

BTW, most of the Jews who experienced the Reich are dead, most were dead 60 years ago. Your question would be equally relevant to Christians who oppose gun control. It's not like they're not slaughtering Christians daily. If you're not aware of it, let men know, I'll ping you to the several threads I post every week on the topic.

Might not be able to get back for a day, but I'll answer. I'd particularly like someone to answer the soul question, these were his words.

BTW, I recognize Ted is a draft dodging rocker with questionable relations with women of tender ages. This is only an issue because politicians, unfortunately Republicans like Ted Cruz, who I support, appreciate and trumpet his support. And the NRA, afraid to speak a whisper when many gun groups have appropriately criticized him.

I’m OK with it on FR. People don’t go back and look at the sources. I find the soulless comment the worst. It’s his words. I wouldn’t believe him, but day 1 he could have claimed not to have read or understood the graphic. Of course that’s gone now too, he’s in full agreement. I’m embarrassed the NRA, of whom I’m a longstanding life member, has refused to address the issue, and that Ted Cruz and kept Ted Nugent’s endorsement on his campaign site. They should know better.

Yes, though I seem the only one finding that the most offensive act, in his own words. Including the media and the many Jewish and gun owner groups commenting on this. Thanks for your comments, maybe I’m making too much of it given the source. Talented musician, not much else.

No. I’m embarrassed by it. I had generally defended the guy in the past. Had no idea this was going on until this thread this very day.

I think the thing that is most unexplainable and reprehensible is that he allowed his FB page to be infested with mouthbreathing scum who dog piled anyone who called him on that first rant and garbage image. If he is really down with them, or just couldn’t bring himself to say he made a mistake because of his pride or full frontal Nugety act, he now owns that kookist garbage as far as I am concerned.

Did you look at Nugent's posted graphic, or are you just being obtuse to be argumentative?

here is what is wrong with it:
1. The Use of Israeli Flags. Except from Rahm Emmanuel none of them are Israeli citizens, much less agents. And for over 20 years, the anti-Israeli Democrat party has used Emmanuel as a shield, while they attack Israel.

2. Michael Bloomberg is "Jew York city Mayor Michael Bloomberg", even though only about 12% of New Yorkers are Jews. The description of 911 Israeli agent" is less of an argument, than a plea for a 72 mental hold. Bloomberg was not mayor on September 11th 2001, Rudy Giulliani was. The terrorist attacks were an inconvenience from Bloomberg, as it was PRIMARY DAY in NYC and he lost a lot of potential voters.

Levin Boxer, Feinstein are objectively anti-Israel with their votes to protect Iran's nuclear weapons program. Even Schumer, who voted against it, helped ensure that the deal would pass by exchanging votes with Kristine Gilibrand and refusing to tell other Democrats to oppose it. Lautenburg is dead and has been for years. Russian Jewish refugees were treated like other refugees under Jackson Vanick, and are among the Jews most likely to support the Second Amendment. The only time the Russian and Orthodox Jewish vote mattered in an election a Conservative-Republican pro-life, pro-gun immigration-reducing Irish American was elected.

3. But the big lie is the assumption that Gun control has something to do with Israeli policy. The reverse is true. The more pro-gun a politician is, the more likely he is to oppose Gun Control. And the only thing Israel has to do with guns in America is selling them to Americans. Ever heard of the Desert Eagle?
