While this may be how things play out, the Bible does not say anything about financial transactions being digital.

No, it does not use that term (digital). But the convergence of technology, the news, and where we are going certainly leads one to a logical conclusion that the nightmarish events described in Revelation 13 don't refer to trading in coconuts.
