In an extensive Facebook rant, Coulter highlighted excerpts from debate transcripts in which Trump denied support for socialized medicine.
In both instances she referenced, Trump denied support for Obamacare, arguing that he would repeal it and replace it with "something so much better."
Asked about universal health care during an interview with 60 Minutes in September, Trump said, "I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not."
"The government's gonna pay for it," Trump replied. "But we're going to save so much money on the other side. But for the most it's going to be a private plan and people are going to be able to go out and negotiate great plans with lots of different competition with lots of competitors with great companies and they can have their doctors, they can have plans, they can have everything."

Arkansas plans may be cheaper, but they have no non-emergency providers in New York City.
It’s not just a matter of state law, it is a matter of networks.
When you buy health insurance, you are buying into a state-based or regional network.
People in NYC aren’t likely to be able to use networks hundreds or thousands of miles away.
And why should clean-living Mormons in Utah subsidize AIDS drugs for the Greenwich Village gay people of New York?
Conservatism (as an American) means conserving (defending, protecting, preserving, etc) our American heritage and Judeo-Christian way of life. Our nation was founded on the principle that all men are created equal by God and are endowed by Him with our unalienable rights. No man is king. The government is not king. We have the Declaration and the Constitution defining the Rule of Law, defending our rights and limiting the powers of government. Government derives its just powers at the consent of the governed. It also means defending our borders, our national security and our national sovereignty. Defending our rights covers the rights to life and religious freedom and all other individual rights plus our systems of state and local governments and to be free from the tyranny of an overreaching, overtaxing central government.
These principles are all unique to America and are what we aim to conserve.
Trump is an idiot. Medicare is not for “the poor”, that’s Medicaid and it’s destroying state budgets. Add Obamacare and it’s worse.
“doctor shortage”
My neighbor’s daughter is a physician assistant. She is doing so well she got ~$20,000/raise after a few months. Her patients are getting better because she is a lovely person loved by her patients who are glad to follow her advice and directions.
I don’t trust anyone who says “people dying in the streets”.
What a Alinsky-like statement.
From his book and his speeches, he's proposing the private insurance across state line route.
He's also added a few comments that concern me.
At one appearance he talked about taking care of 'all women'...uhm, what? Then he adds in the talk about not letting people die in the streets.
I haven't seen any details on what he is proposing to prevent that other than what I read into it which would be expanding medicare.
If coupled with true fraud and abuse prevention, it may be the cheaper route. Is it the conservative/libertarian approach? Nope.
But do we truly think we could go so far in this country to do the health savings types accounts that Ben Carson proposes? Also, unlikely.
Cruz explained very well during the New Hampshire debate that CNN was the source of the report involving Ben Carson.
My only doubt about Cruz is his support of a flat tax plan, currently unrealistic in light of excessive government spending and high living costs caused by bad zoning and other bad regulation.
If we even get to the point of repealing Obamacare and allowing private insurance companies to compete across state lines, that would be yuuuge victory in itself.
If we also got to the point where we could decouple health insurance from employment (if it allowed everyone to pool together and reduce costs) that would also be a yuuuge victory. Having businesses reduce their expenses especially on health care should be a boon to hiring and make them more competitive.
But, what do I know? I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
You know you are cutting out the quotes where Trump said the Scotland system was at a different time and it wouldn’t work here.
Now why would you do that?
“I donât trust anyone who says âpeople dying in the streetsâ.
You don’t think people are dying in the streets now?
um.. go back and read that again.. I left nothing out....
It is actually in BOLD.
Hey, my apologies. I didn’t see it. It is there. Honest mistake. Sorry about that.
I like this part
“Weâre going to take out the artificial boundaries, the artificial lines. Weâre going to get a plan where people compete, free enterprise. They compete. So much better.”
If Trump passes legislation saying I can buy insurance from, say, a company in South Dakota that doesn't currently do business in Missouri, then will that same legislation say that the company in South Dakota has to sell to me if I want them to?
He's also added a few comments that concern me.
Yes, he has definitely evolved Terifficcare from just selling across state lines to taking care of everyone. It does raise questions as well as eyebrows.
If coupled with true fraud and abuse prevention, it may be the cheaper route. Is it the conservative/libertarian approach? Nope.
Yes because no politician has ever thought of promising to save money by cutting out waste, fraud, and abuse have they? And it always works.
But do we truly think we could go so far in this country to do the health savings types accounts that Ben Carson proposes? Also, unlikely.
Carson's proposals were entirely unworkable.
Insurance can compete across state lines if they want to. Would the Trump legislation force them to?
I don’t know about decoupling healthcare from employment.
The problem I see is that individuals have very little power over insurance companies to force them to do the right thing. Whereas companies tend to look out for their employees and have more leverage with an insurance company to force them to do the right thing.
Of course I hate that you lose insurance when you change jobs too. Not sure what the right solution is.
For what it's worth...from Trump's book...(P.75)
...I'd like to see a private insurance system without artificial lines drawn between states. We need to get rid of those lines and let people and companies cross states lines to purchase the best plan for them. The government should get out of the way and let insurance companies compete for your business.
The government doesn't belong in health care except as the very last resort.
And Trump accused Cruz of stealing votes from Ben Carson in Iowa, despite there not having been a single person who has come forward to say “I was going to vote for Carson until someone from the Cruz campaign told me that he’d dropped out, so I voted for Cruz.”
Again, if an insurance company wants to do business in Missouri now then all they need to do is register with the Missouri insurance people and meet their requirements. But if they choose not to do business in Missouri but instead I go to them and ask them to sell me a policy will they be forced to do so?
