I think claptrap like this piece has been proven wrong. Every Republican hangs his hat on being elected on the Evangelical vote and we have Obama. I know Cruz supporters hate to hear this but he does not need a majority of the Evangelicals or people that consider themselves very conservative. He can trade you 2 for 1 with Independents, crossover Democrats and people who agnostic politically. Be nice if the hard right and the God squad went with Trump, but he can win without you. But in the end Trump will get that group to vote for him also, the prospect of Hillary or that lunatic Sanders scares them worse.

So far, Trump has 17 delegates and the non-Trumps have 28. Needed to win: 1,237. It’s still way early. After March 1 and especially after March 15, we will have a much clearer picture.

Trump got more NH votes from Evangelicals than Cruz

Those deceitful Iowa tricks of Cruz. Barring false witness against nice Doc Carson and the Shaming mail that was voter intimidation both seemed to hold Cruz back in NH.

Cruz got the same 11% as the polls said he had before IA

Cruz got no bounce. Cruz doesn’t really exhibit Christian values in what he does. All Talk. Ted Millhouse Cruz

If you shake his hand count your fingers afterward.

More attack from the left. That used to get the Viking Kitties sniffing around here. My, oh my. How far we have declined from being "premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web."

No Republican candidate, including Trump, can win without a decent turnout from socially conservative voters. Those are the Cruz supporters. Cruz is conservative across the board. If Trump gets the nomination he must pick a very conservative running mate (like Cruz) AND stick to a conservative message (not shift left like many candidates do in the general).

You should consider that Evangelicals did not have a candidate that would cause them to be so motivated to get out and vote like they have in Ted Cruz in the last two elections for President.
