Like opening up a very ripe watermelon, and the rind keeps on splitting further open ahead of the knife.

Some things just predict their own direction beyond the touch of any rational explanation.

I used to get some long dark green watermelons from Water Valley Mississippi that would weigh 60-70#s each. I had a friend with a convenience store that kept his cooler just above freezing and we would keep them there for 5 or 6 days, these were the sweetest, juiciest, best watermelons I’ve ever had. As soon as you started cutting one they would start cracking and seemed to guide the knife.
