After finishing in fourth place during Tuesday's New Hampshire Republican primary, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush is looking towards a longer-term strategy for the GOP nomination.
"I think the field will whittle down eventually," Bush said in an interview with "CBS This Morning" early Wednesday. "I'm a patient person. I wish it all happened overnight, that's kind of the obsession of the pundits want that to happen but it'll happen. And when it does, I'm the one candidate that has taken on Donald Trump that does not believe he's a conservative."
Of Trump, who won the first-in-the-nation primary by a double-digit landslide, Bush said that the businessman's nomination, "would be a disaster for the Republican party."
Bush predicted that if the billionaire landed on the GOP ticket, it "would mean landslide defeats for a lot of really good people that are serving right now."

He’s right, the field will whittle down, but he’s going to be one of the shavings.
Mom and his pocket turtle didn’t seem to help much, neither did the $37 MILLION he spent in NH.
Govenor Bush,
Let me put it in terms you may understand.
Ha llegado el momento . Su campaña tiene muerte cerebral , es el momento de tirar del enchufe .
Jeb’s time was back when Romney was running for office. Except Romney was the establishment pick and the donors were backing him. People are mad, and Bush reflects what people are upset with.
Dead campaign.
$37 million for a fourth place finish is sub-par for Jeb.
I guess he’s sticking around because he has money left to burn.
If he makes it to FL, he’ll be buried there.
I thought jeb already left to head on back to Fla to catch frogs.
My guess is that growing up, things he didn’t do were done for him, eventually. Someone picked up those socks, flushed that toilet, filled out that application for university. Almost like magic how that happened...if he were to be ... patient.
Bush you are already whittled down.
Glad we are on the same page. Jeb will be my global warming president.
37 million? that is about 1 million per vote isn’t it?
Translation: I’m stubborn and still have millions in donations to keep going. Until I don’t.
If you’re really patient, you can wait until 2024 and try again then.
He is patiently waiting in fourth place from a position of strength.
Bush is patient but there are no longer facilities readily available where he can be committed.
May be patient, but not very smart.
As long as he has money, he will stay in hoping the RNC/GOP has tricks up their sleeve to make him The Designated Loser.
I’m not yet confident they won’t.
