NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) â Controversy continues to swirl around Beyonceâs Super Bowl halftime show performance.
The pop superstar is being accused of using her performance to attack police officers.
âI think it was outrageous that she used it as a platform to attack police officers, who are the people who protect her and protect us,â former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani told CBS2âs Dick Brennan.
Beyonce and her dancers were wearing leather and black berets, which was apparently a nod to the Black Panthers movement.
One dance formation seemed to acknowledge Malcolm X, and other dancers had fists in the air, which was reminiscent of the black power salutes of the 1960s and 70s.
Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., told CBS2 that the NFL should have canceled her appearance.
âI found the entire show objectionable. It was extolling the Black Panthers who were a terrorist organization, killing police officers in the 60s and 70s,â King said.
A protest is even being held against Beyonce next week outside NFLâs headquarters in New York.
According to an Event Brite page, an Anti-Beyonce Protest rally will be held Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
âAre you offended as an American that Beyoncé pulled her race-baiting stunt at the Superbowl? Do you agree that it was a slap in the face to law enforcement? Do you agree that the Black Panthers was/is a hate group which should not be glorified? Come and letâs stand together. Letâs tell the NFL we donât want hate speech & racism at the Superbowl ever again!â the page reads.

Gaga reminds me of a female impersonator. Her outfit of raw meat was disgusting.
Mike Wilbon, made a complete a$$ of himself today, on PTI. With his, absurd defense of that half time show.
At least she was classy doing the “Star Spangle Banner”.
>> which features dump in the woods squatting
A choreographed bowel movement.
I don’t do Pepsi anyhow. Haven’t since I learned they use
aborted baby tissues to “taste test” their lousy, too sweet
cold drink. Unless they’ve quit that stupid garbage, I’m
off Pepsi for good. (Makes perfect sense they’re pushing
Beyone’s trashy “performances”. Ugly trashy.
Saw that. Wilbon excoriated Giuliani for daring to criticize “black royalty” and defended the blatant black nationalism on display in that halftime show.
Perfect analogy.
Yeah it was totally ridiculous. I expect that from Hacks like Michael Smith and Jemele Hill, but not Wilbon thought he was better than that.
And got her tons and tons of attention, which was the point, no matter how offensive you and I may have found it.
Man... that’s one ugly woman in that picture. Yuck. Rich but ugly. She does look like moochele in this picture.
So when a pro-neighborhood police show pops up next time; do you think they will be saying it’s just artistic freedom?
Pretty much for me, too.
Who? What football game?
Michele aka Michael was. That is one scary thingy.
Screw the NFL. I shut them off about 35 years ago and haven’t watched a game since. Haven’t missed it a bit.
Most of them (owners and players and their media buddies) are just another bunch of PC pimps running a clown show. They’ll do anything to make a buck. The atmosphere is getting more like “professional” wrestling.
Maybe this racist, anti-cop show will backfire at least a tiny little bit. It would be funny if the cops refused to help them out on game days, too.
The problem is that die-hard “fans” wouldn’t give up on the NFL even if they invited ISIS to behead people during half-time shows to show how tolerant and inclusive they are.
TV or not TV, that is the question. Whether it is nobler in the mind, to switch or die...
yeah, the nfl should push the anti police pro black crazy agenda?
That should help ticket sales.
Maybe a few black lives matter riots at a few games to give some realness feel to it all.
Who ever is in charge of superbowl half time shows is a moron and ought be fired.
Bring in Garth or George Strait and see the crowd really get fired up instead of the crap they have year after year.
