Chris Matthews and his economist what a joke, perhaps they can get Bernie Sanders and a communist economist to comment.
THe 16% Business Tax on gross earnings minus expenses but not including wages paid to employees. HOWEVER the employer would no longer have to pay payroll taxes either. Currently employers pay ~7.5% in FIca and SS taxes. they also are replacing the Corporate Taxes.
Steve Moore and Art Laffer helped with the Cruz tax plan,

You raise a good point. In addition to the impact of VAT affecting retired seniors, I'm interested in learning what Cruz' plan is to fund the employer's-share of payroll taxes.
Of course you didn’t notice the backdoor way of ending Social Security, right. That will go over big.
Laffer did NOT help Teddy with his tax plan.
So... Not a VAT...
“Currently employers pay ~7.5% in FIca and SS taxes.”
The same ‘biz don’t pay taxes’ applies. Employers DON’T pay 7.5%...they merely reduce ones pay by 7.5%+
Now, Mr. Cruz, where is the employees ability to reduce THEIR HCare costs, like a biz (whom has NO care the pro/con of what is supplied, let alone their OBLIGATION to provide the same)?
