“If Cruz can’t stand up to Trump how does he go toe to toe with Putin?”

And since Trump admires Putin, he won’t NEED to go toe-to-toe. They will be arm-in-arm!

But really...the idea that Cruz is afraid of Trump is a Trumpian fantasy. Like most of the things Trump says...

Cruz was not going to let the moderators turn the debate into another round of the candidates attacking each other and fighting among themselves.

Cruz decided to take the high road and stick to discussing the issues, and leave the pettiness to the others.

So why didn't Cruz just restate his contention that Trump doesn't have the temperament and judgment to have his finger on the button or that he would nuke Denmark?

Cruz lacked the cajones to say it to Trump's face.

Somebody needs to remind Ted not to say something behind someone’s back they won’t say to your face. :-)

I felt it gives Trump an opportunity to be a bully. A role that he relishes, but voters abhor. Even after Cruz explained his position with Carson, Carson acted like he wanted to be friends before taking a shot at him. I thought Trump behaved until this point and at the very end of the debate when he took a shot at Trump.

My professor at school, who is very liberal, made a comment that whoever has the ground game in politics typically wins. He used Cruz as an example of someone on the Republican side.

Trump has said that he will have a good working relationship with Putin and Russia. What's bad about that? Isn't it better to have the U.S. and Russia working together on areas of common interest (like ISIS) than engaging in unproductive confrontation?

Reagan worked with Gorbachev, even as he was advancing U.S. interests. Trump will do the same with Putin. Strong leaders engage while weak leaders posture.
