Republican presidential candidate and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson's former top campaign aides think Carson's campaign botched the handling of his post-Iowa caucus trip home to Florida, the fallout of which has pervaded throughout the week.
Before the caucuses began, Carson's campaign hastily said that the candidate was heading home "to get fresh clothes," amid speculation that he might be pulling the plug on his campaign.
Barry Bennett, Carson's former campaign manager, and Doug Watts, his former communications director, told Business Insider that the candidate was asking for such speculation by making the announcement in the middle of the caucus fury.
Bennett, who now serves as a volunteer adviser to real-estate mogul Donald Trump, said: ...

Take a rest, why don’t you.
Better fasten your seat belt because I won’t be resting until Ted Cruz becomes the Republican nominee.
“Bennett, who now serves as a volunteer adviser to real-estate mogul Donald Trump”
I had a feeling that bloated bastard would appear and we find him involved in the mess.
Yup, the media was effectively reporting Carson out before any voting had even been done.
A twitter friend in Iowa told me she saw it on CNN on her way out the door. Of course she also said she was informed that a court had ruled Ted Cruz ineligible to be president.
She just laughs it off because its no different than any other caucus.
I got your back, Bro.
Why thank you kind sir!
It should all be over for him by next week. Better find somebody else to get behind.
And if there’s one thing Ben Carson is against, it’s loaded pistols.
“Take a rest, why donât you.”
Yeah, when GGG’s buddy Ted Cruz flames out, he’s going to have to be put on suicide watch!
Now, now. CNN was nice and covered the DT rally and just happened to be the news source for the story, and it makes a great story about “oily” Cruz. Just too many coincidences here. I am also surprised at Steve King who, got major funding and a personal visit from...DT. search for King and DT and find many such links.

All’s fair in love and war.
I imagine it worked on a few. But I don't really believe it made a significant difference in the voting.
The whole process is fairly chaotic. Of course, it's utopia compared to the Democrat Party Caucus process.
Sure, GGG is fairly extreme in his political affiliation and support for his candidate.
After all, this is how we determine who will run against the DEMS for PRESIDENT. Which is immensely important, and one might say our lives and livelihood are on the line.
No one knows what will happen during this part of the election process. We could end up with Bush.
The political process is a dirty one, and can bring out the most extreme personality traits in posters. I’ve seen this over and over, and not just on political threads.
I might suggest that ‘we’ all stick to the issues, and quit trying to use personal attacks or insinuations. Whether you realize it or not, you are just provoking a return attack.
So, be strong, be firm, support your candidate , but realize that everyone thinks they are right. Often they are not. If you think you are never wrong, then we will see what the future brings, and it might not even bring us what we want. We may all have to be put on suicide watch (figuratively).
>{?: ) (Donald Trump’s Hairdo)
==Yeah, when GGG’s buddy Ted Cruz flames out, he’s going to have to be put on suicide watch!
It is your dear leader who thinks his followers are so mentally deranged that he wouldn’t lose one voter if he murdered someone on 5th Avenue in broad daylight.
Now THOSE are the people who are going to have to be put on suicide watch after Trump gets his clocked cleaned by Ted Cruz on Super Tuesday.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from bridges and other high places for a while, ok?
Oops, probably should have read your advice before my last reply. Oh well :o)
“going home to change clothes’ is just an excuse for “going home to reevaluate whether I should drop out”.
Everyone knows it. IMHO, Carson may have good intentions in running for President, but I wonder how many of his BOOK SIGNING/SALES Events happened to be in or near places he was ‘campaigning’ ?
Was that the reason he first indicated/stated/let someone on his staff slip out that he wasn’t going to New Hampshire or South Carolina ? No book sales scheduled ?
Now, he has to go, or his donors will withdraw their funds.
Many of the candidates are in this for the money. Let’s not try to lie to ourselves. Ben Carson may be a completely upright person with totally honest intentions. but he looks like another one of those who were allowed to run so as to dilute the field/votes for the top candidates while raking in the donor cash, then deciding where the key point to drop out is.
I really don’t expect anyone to ‘change’ just because I recommend it. We are who we are. We all feel we must attack, when attacked. Trying not to is a discipline not easily learned.
