Let's take one change in his approach to the single-payer health care issue. One proposals put forth in 1999, when he last considered running for president was a single-payer health care program. "We had a much different country" when he proposed a single-payer system. Now he advocates a PRIVATE health care system.
"I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now." All one needs to do is read chapter 8 in his book, Time to Get Tough to understand that when Trump calls for "Universal Health Care" he means "everyone gets covered." I am for Universal healthcare as well because I want everyone covered.
In his book, he outlines the changes he wants to make with healthcare:
1.) Repeal of the McCarren Ferguson Act (selling across state lines).
2.) Expansion of Health Savings Accounts.
3.) "Making sure most Americans have access to PRIVATE health insurance in a vibrant and competitive market."
4.) Reform of our Veterans Administration health care system.
Problem with Trump’s “change” is that it remains constant, depending on which way the poll winds blow. Trump has stated several occasions he would do deals with DUmocrats. If that’s what I want, Rubio deals as well...gave us shAmnesty.
Trump can’t back away from his Twitter tantrums long enough to examine any issues and resorts to baseless character assassinations to score political points in the media. Same as the DUmocrats.
Healthcare...ah, another Trump myth. He has stated he wants “healthcare for everybody” and “government is going to pay for it”. That is what we have now. No, I will not support a re-branding of ObamaCare. Let people get their own insurance and get government OUT of it. Companies are already going out of business over this fiasco and each of his “proposals” grow government faster than Obama has.
