Trump on Cruz feud: 'I don't care about that anymore'
CNN ^ | February 4, 2016 | MJ Lee

The day after accusing Ted Cruz of winning the Iowa caucuses unfairly and asking for a rematch in the state, Donald Trump says he's now over it.

"I'm so much into this, into New Hampshire, that I just — I don't care about that anymore," Trump said in an interview with CNN's Anderson Cooper in Manchester, just five days out from next Tuesday's primary contest here. "This is the place I'm focused on now."

These comments, made at Theo's, a popular local pizza joint that serves up specialty Italian and Greek dishes, were in stark contrast to a tirade of angry tweets Trump sent out the day before, where he charged that the Texas senator had committed "fraud" in Iowa and called for a "new election."

The controversy started when CNN reported Monday night that Carson would go home to Florida following the Iowa caucuses instead of flying directly to the early voting states New Hampshire and South Carolina. The network added that he planned to stay in the race.

Some Cruz allies shared that news widely on the night of the caucuses, including to Carson supporters, but did not include the part about Carson remaining in the race.

Oh no, it’s far more than that. It’s what he did to Ben Carson. Now if you believe that incident was media contrived and not the Cruz campaign that’s fine. I don’t see it that way at all.

Trump reminds me a lot of Rickover. That may be the key. :-)

I have two friends, who knew Rickover very well. One was an Annapolis grad, who served on Nuclear subs as an engineer officer. One was a key guy at Mare Island, and he got to have meetings with Rickover at 3:30 am. Rickover would fly out west over night and start meetings at 7:30 his time, 3:30 am West coast time.

Both did not look forward to time with Rickover, but both say, without Rickover's energy, drive, brains and belief in America, our wonderful nuclear sub force would not have been the same without him.

To believe that Cruz STOLE Iowa through a forwarded TWEET, you have to believe that a video or a cartoon causes Islamic terrorism.

Who leaked it to CNN? I have a feeling who that LITTLE BIRDIE might be....

Carson has not been running a serious campaign. After he refused to refute Trumps baseless allegations in November, he has been sinking.

Trump is on Kuhners show now. He is past this and into NH now. Trump says he is not taking anything for granted. He expects to do really well. He is still the only one self-funding he is not controlled and can knock out Obama care. Says Cruz put out a false message about this...he does not want Obama care. He says private health care that works. Said every person running for office is taking money from insurance companies and oil. He expects to bring in states not in the vocabulary of others running. He wants to see strong borders and the wall. Knock out obamacare take care of vets, build up military. He will appoint judges against row v Wade. Says Putin..he wants to work with them and other countries to knock out isis.
Kuhners asks what has been the biggest surprise? Best surprise is the people he loves their spirit. He says he’s meeting hundreds of thousands of people. He has 6 stops today in NH. Kuhners says all he sees in NH are Trump signs and bumper stickers.

I get it. Cruz is your guy and that’s great. You posted your argument with articles supporting your point, which raises you highly in my estimation. However, getting down to the nitty gritty, a call to the Carson campaign before going full throttle would have been the least the Cruz campaign should have done. In my opinion, which is unwavering, what they did remains dirty politics and the apology Sen Cruz offered didn’t change that.

Full disclosure not that you probably need it: I’m a Trump supporter who really hopes that Trump wraps up this primary season soon. I’d rather argue with Dems than my fellow Conservatives.

"I’d rather argue with Dems than my fellow Conservatives."

On that point we agree. Carson was my #2 choice so I think what Trump did to Carson in November was abhorrent (dragging his impeccable reputation into the dirt). Carson's behavior since has made me sour on him as ready or capable to lead, but doesn't change my opinion that the Trump attacks were vile.

Trump did not say anything about Carson that Carson did not say. Read Carson’s book. The vile one is Cruz.

Since I don’t see you attacking Rubio for forwarding to his campaign, your selective outrage shows your biased to remove the only conservative from the race to prop up either and establishment RINO or a LIEberal progressive.

I’m going by Candy Carson who was at the caucus and reported that Cruz did this vile thing. He is no conservative!

I was temporarily assigned to USS Tullibee, the Nuclear-Electric drive so-called Slow Attack Boat, while I waited for USS TREPANG to get back from doing oceanographic research in the North Atlantic. They went out to sea, but I stayed home to learn how to arm nuclear weapons. In a very dense fog, a merchant ship, that was going too fast, collided with Tullibee when it came to periscope depth. Big gash in the forward ballast tanks, so much so that they had to exhaust their diesel through it to stay afloat.

Anyway, Rickover came up to Groton about it, and called the OOD who was on watch at the time to see him. As you can expect, the guy was a little apprehensive. He told us that when he went in the room, Rickover came over immediately, put out his hand, and said, “I just wanted to shake the hand of the man who saved my submarine.” That was the kind of man Rickover was, and that is the kind of President Donald Trump will be.

I was on Scamp. We shared a pier with the Tulibee quite often.

What are you doing? Are you not trying to convince others to support your chosen candidate? That is how the caucus system works in Iowa, only your side is doing it through smears and innuendo. Is Carson’s campaign sinking...yep. Is he campaigning in NH or SC? Nope. Is that how to run a serious campaign? Absolutely not. A vote for Carson is a wasted vote, just like the 12 folks in the state that cast their vote for Gilmore. Do you criticize Rubio for the sending the same message on to his campaign staff? Nope..so your argument falls flat.

Don’t throw a #TRUMPERTANTRUM now...You people are really trying hard to make mountains out of molehills. Do you have any clue how much money Trump owes Wall Street banks? Cruz’s collateralized loans against his personal account for his Senate campaign was disclosed in several other places and is less than 1/10th of 1% of the loans Trump has with said banks. If Goldman Sachs isn’t one of them it is probably because of his bad credit rating from his past multiple business bankruptcies.
