I would take anything you read in “The Bangor Daily News” with a grain of salt....to say that news paper leans to the left would be an understatement.

I never heard of any conceal carry permit holders here being opposed to Constitutional carry. As for training, it is always a good idea for a person to take a class to learn the proper handling of a firearm. I’ve seen ads on TV and I’ve heard ads on the radio here in Maine advertising businesses that offer firearm training classes.

As I’m typing this and listening to Rush, I just heard a commercial on the radio for a business called Fox Firearms, which advertised their gun shop and firearm training classes.

Also, the Maine State Police last year came out in favor of Constitutional Carry....they were not opposed to CC.
The Maine State Police said they were too busy to do all the paper work for conceal carry permits, and now they do not have to bother.

Local police chiefs and sheriffs did not support the bill last year, but it passed the democrat-controlled Maine House and the Republican Maine Senate. At first, Gov. Paul LePage hesitated to sign the bill, because it only applied to Maine residents 21 and older. The governor wanted the bill changed to include members of the military between the ages of 18 and 21, and the bill was changed at the governor’s request.

When Arizona recently passed Constitutional Carry, the number of people taking training courses increased. We will see if that happens in Maine.

Maine has a very low crime rate, but recently drug dealers from New York City, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey have been selling heroin and other drugs in Maine, and buying guns here and bringing them back to their states.
Apparently, a packet of heroin that sells for $15 in New York sells for ten times that amount in Maine. Drug task forces have been created left and right to combat these drug dealers. Meanwhile, Obama pardons the dealers in federal prison.

Thanks for the infos. Sounds like your governor is a good guy!! Ours is much much less so. Will be glad when she’s finally replaced.

We too here in NH have an issue with herion...or so thats what the govt says. The governor is using it as a platform to raise taxes. Hope the legislature has the good sense to tell her to pond sand...well see tho.

Thanks again for the infos about ME.
