What is most telling to me is that he is doing multiple appearances in NH... when he is up 20 points in most polls. There are only 20 delegates at stake, and he has at least 8 of them sewn up, with four or five other candidates splitting the remaining 12... I think he realizes that if he underperforms again for the second consecutive contest, every poll in his favor (which is just about every poll in every state) will suddenly be in doubt. He can’t just win in NH, he has to destroy the competition... and he cannot really do that with more candidates dropping out. Everyone else will get several more points than expected (including Trump). He will have to get close to 50 pct, and I just don’t see that happening with nine candidates still in.

He’s said repeatedly he is not taking any chances.
