When a manâs logic rests on the decorum and magnanimity of Donald Trump, you probably want to stop following his trail of bread crumbs before total and complete madness sets in. For no sooner had Ted Cruz declared victory in the Iowa Caucuses than Charles Hurt took to these very pages on Tuesday and claimed Mr. Trump to be the real winner despite the fact he didnât win. Because, you know, Donald is so nice and all.

Can you explain why Cruz got a lower percentage of the vote in Texas in November 2012 than Romney?
Why is Trump the only Republican who agrees with Obama’s opening relations with Cuba?

It was only 0.5% lower. Romney probably got some crossover votes from Democrats who didn’t like Obama.
Agree, but running on par with Mitt just seems like a pretty low criteria for success for a guy who is reputed to be “wildly popular” in his adopted state.
And do you think Cruz will stop the flood of Cubans currently flowing over our porous border- which will cost us billions when we’re already 19 trillion in debt??
He’s already too soft on illegal aliens.
We don’t need a guy from a Cuban family from Canada-another foreign born with an obscure past. Other countries must be laughing at us.
Didn’t Obama give us enough of this idiocy?
Good God! Is this the best we can do?
We need an American who loves this country- someone who can make America great and respected again.
You prolly are familiar with the principles of death...Right?
I’m not looking for a candidate who gets Democrat votes. I consider that a red flag.
Cruz is an American who loves this country. Where someone is born has nothing to do with if they love America. Just look at Sanders, Pelosi, Reid and other American-born leftists. I’d take a foreigner who loves this country over any of them. But since Cruz is a natural-born American citizen who was too young to remember living anywhere else but America, it’s not an issue.
Cruz is a foreign born guy from a Canadian Cuban family.
We don’t need any more foreigners.
