There's a truism amongst fighter pilots: you can't fake it at 500 knots and enemy fire all around. One's real character emerges.
That's what's happening as the presidential race has begun. Real results â not polls â are now being felt, and Donald Trump, who beat his chest as the inevitable victor in the polls, is revealing his true character â as is Ted Cruz, who surprisingly bested him in the first live battle, the Iowa caucuses.
As the caucuses commenced, Cruz was accused of maliciously reporting that candidate Ben Carson was dropping out of the race. That would help Cruz, it was theorized, since Carson voters presumably might go to Cruz.
What actually happened, it turns out, is that Carson revealed he was going home after Iowa and not on to New Hampshire, where the next vote will be held and where most expected him to go. CNN reported this with hints that it was strange. Why wouldn't he be going to New Hampshire? Was he dropping out?
Unnamed (so far) elements of Cruz's campaign then, as the caucuses were being conducted and votes being tallied, tweeted basically the same. When Carson, after the election, found this out, he cried foul. Cruz, who all evidence so far indicates had no personal knowledge of his campaign's tactic, nevertheless immediately apologized. Carson eventually blamed CNN, although he was not happy with anyone involved. Details of the matter are still to be revealed.
But Trump, a smart man and certainly aware of these basics â and after a gracious acknowledgement of Cruz's victory â the next day reversed and charged that Cruz had lied to get votes. He is now demanding a new Iowa election.

Btw, based on your condescending remarks, without answering my questions, reminds me of how Obama worshipers act.
Doesn't mater what his past is, we just need to vote for him because he's black, or in Trumps case, we should just vote for him because he's a billionaire, claims to be anti establishment, tells us everything we want to hear, and has nice hair.
Look, I want an anti-establishment guy as much as you do, but I want the RIGHT anti-establishment guy. Just being anti-establishment doesn't mean were going to get a conservative, or someone who has our or the country's best interests at heart.
I know for me, I'm making the smart choice, not the emotional one when I go into the voting booth and pick our Republican nominee.
I answered your first question directly dummy...that’s not good enough?
And I thought it was just liberals who ask everyone else to do their work for them...
One thing Trump zealots are good at is throwing insults at those who question Trumps fake conservative credentials, as a real conservative should.
I found out the people Trump wants on the supreme court, and all I can say is "YUCK". Why would I want Trump's hard core leftist sister, who puts Hillary Clinton to shame on the court?
I'm sorry but there's nothing you can say that makes me want to chose Trump over Cruz, especially after Trumps truther remarks, and how fondly he spoke about Planned Parenthood.
No more nominating liberals and Democrats in conservative clothing as our candidates. Trump is not the answer, but is a slick phony, who's using and taking advantage of those who are making their voting decisions based on pure emotion, instead of plain common sense. Reminds me a lot of Obama voters.
If Trump does win the primary, just watch as he changes his views and tone, like he changes one of his suits, to make himself more marketable, and attractive to those “Oh So Important Moderates” he'll think he needs to win the general election.
Btw those who call others dummies without laying out their case in a reasonable intelligent manner, aren't the brightest bulbs in the world either.
Lol...most conservatives were pleased with the names Trump gave as possible choices at the debate on Saturday night. Of course most conservatives aren't dummies relying on recycled anti-Trump talking points to form their opinions.
Revisionist.
‘Revisionist.’
Hope you are describing trump.
