As Donald Trump spent his week attacking Ted Cruz while trying to win favor in New Hampshire, Cruz took a much different approach: He praised his Democratic rival, Bernie Sanders. Cruz knew that the state is notorious for its regionalistic voting when he spoke highly of the Vermont senator to a crowd in Henniker this afternoon.
âIn diagnosing the problem, I agree in many ways with Bernie Sanders,â he said, according to Politicoâs Katie Glueck. âI enjoy watching the media folks. Theyâre very puzzled when they say, âGosh, Ted, you sound exactly like Bernie, saying itâs all big money and lobbyists and corruption.â Well, you know what? Thatâs right. It is. Washington is corrupt.â
He went on to say that the real division in politics is not between Republicans or Democrats, but between career officials in Washington and their constituents before concluding that the only difference between him and Sanders was their proposed solutions to the mutually agreed-upon problem.

Sanders had a good rating from the NRA until he became a Senator and thought about running for president.
If Cruz’s staff doesn’t get him in trouble, his own big mouth will.
I got to disagree with Cruz on this one. When conservatives talk about the big money, we mean businesses who are trying to get their hands on the taxpayers money, businesses that exist hand and hand with big government. What Sanders means is everybody who is successful, including businesses who gain their success in the private sector, where transactions occur on a purely voluntary basis. No, what free market conservatives and Sanders are talking about are not the same thing.
Well...you certainly had a nicely thought out rational post.
The piece ends with Cruz responding to Bernie’s ‘solutions’ just like Gen. McAuliffe responded at Bastogne.
Did Ted preach this while grabbing an envelop from Goldman Sachs?
It seems more and more people just read the headlines.
I agree with Bernie on one other thing.
Hillary shouldn’t be president!
Kind of interesting - when Cruz agrees somewhat with a solid socialist, it is time to believe the socialist.
On the other hand, it isn't right to believe Trump on anything because "he's a socialist".
I've been donating to Cruz and even I find it incredible how screwed up some of our minds work when it comes to backing politicians by making excuses for anyone that may bee inconvenient to our "beliefs".
