If he paints it as Trump against Cruz and succeeds, then the Cruz supporters go where? Certainly not to Trump. So he hopes they get added to the Rubio column. The cool part for Rove is that if he used Trump to take out Cruz, then Cruz support does not get added to the Trump column. This is very very sleazy of Rove.

You’re trying too hard to justify Cruz’z tampering. Even if Rubio’s people engaged as well he wouldn’t be the logical beneficiary. Carson’s support is nearly all evangelical.
