I saw two articles where CNN denied stating Carson was dropping out. All CNN said was that Carson was flying home immediately after the caucus.

That's exactly what they said.

In the case of Cruz, if politicians words don't add up it's usually because the truth wasn't included in the equation.

Rove on O’Reilly gave a scenario, saying that IF there were 4 Carson voters in every Iowa precinct who switched from Carson to Cruz, that’s why Cruz won. If the assumed Carson voters didn’t switch their vote, Trump would have won.

First, I don’t trust either Cruz or Trump, but if a large number of people actually changed their vote from Carson to Cruz based on this stunt, why haven’t they come forward?

Really, this is much ado about nothing. Carson came out better than he was expected to do from the polls, so this is just silly.

Carson stupidly put out an ambiguous statement while the caucuses were still ongoing. Some of this is self-inflicted damage.

Sure... and then someone on the Cruz campaign didn't do their due diligence and the whole thing took on a life of its own. On one level, it's a fairly serious mistake/oversight/lack of fundamental basics of checking something before running with it/ all the way to outright malfeasance ... on another level, it's a bit of a tempest in a teapot for which as you say, the Carson campaign actually bears some responsibility for being ambiguous in a way that set it all in motion.

Yet, we asked now to believe that Donald Trump (who stupidly skipped the Iowa Debate because of an arrogant Napoleon-esqe style over confidence) ...

LOST Iowa due to because Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz re-tweeted a CNN news flash that Ben Carson was suspected of wanting to cancel his campaign after a disasterous 4th place finish.

Sheesh ....

Why would any Iowa voter even believe the alleged nonsense that Dr. Ben Carson really IS NOT serious about a POTUS campaign ?

Because it happens to be theory that happens to fit the FACTS of the DEBACLE of the Ben Carson campaign.
