Then I have an issue with some touting the ‘honor’ within the military. Either he believes what he is saying or lying outright.

Else, IMO, the honorable thing to do would be to tell the truth and come what may.

Now, if he *believes* the same, then he’s proven himself to be too inept to be given command of KP duty.

The job requires absolute obedience. If the soldier disagrees then the honorable thing to do is leave. You stay and accept or you do not accept and you leave. I believe they are doing this in record numbers. This man is a career officer. Nothing means more to him than being the top dog in his pack. He is more concerned with status than honor. Most likely he has done some -doublethink- and now believes what he says. He has adjusted his reality to make his new views -honorable.-
