He seems to be in the more instantaneously non-obvious spot of a person who is morphing, but without enough of a history in the position he has morphed to that people feel uncomfortable predicting he will stay there.

In response: I’ve noticed a larger trend that he seems to morph from left to right and not the other way in any demonstrated sense.

I can see a theoretical point, but feel that fears like this can be like unto fears about global warming. It’s possible in principle. But nobody’s actually seen the earth show signs of doing the alarming, hostile things that Al Gore has characterized it with doing in response to much less CO2 than the earth has endured in the past.

As a wascally evangelical, I’ve learned that moving targets can be more telltale about what’s behind them, than fixed targets are. The fixed appearance could be a show over ossified thought. Something that moves is clearly attached to a mover, and the kind of motion shows what kind of mover. This is not the Mitt variety of change. He went from left to right back to left. This is a mover that is focused on people. Donald is in motion to the right. This is a mover that is focused on something beyond people, in fact quite likely beyond the world.

Agreed. And it's especially easy, given the circumstances, to wonder if he's really morphing or is it an act he feels he has to play in order to chase the nomination.

Is it because he's running for the Republican nomination? Or is it genuine? If you look at his history he's switched from Democrat to Republican then back to Democrat then to Reform Party and on and on. Ronald Reagan moved to the right once, and having left the Democrats he didn't pinball between parties. Trump's hasn't shown that he has any real political position that isn't open to change.

Donald is in motion to the right. This is a mover that is focused on something beyond people, in fact quite likely beyond the world.

As a die-hard skeptic I just find it hard to trust his move to the right is genuine or long lasting.
