When we got back on a week later we saw that the duct tape had been covered with a coat of fresh paint.

I never went back to see if the paint job held up but I was appalled to see the outline of the duct tape under the fresh coat of paint. I know duct tape is good stuff but at 20.000 feet? Yikes!
