CRUZ 28 Trump. 24 Rubio. 23
NEVER under-estimate the power of ground game.
“The rest” of the elections? You do know that Nevada has a caucus this month, and Kentucky has one in March? That’s just the two I know off the top of my head.
“rump is 22 points ahead of Cruz in New Hampshire, where conservative Christianity is a total non-starter. It’s an extremely socially liberal state, one of the first to legalize homosexual marriage.”
Please stop with these “leads” and twitter follower counts. They don’t matter. Trump has more money, more casinos, more strip clubs, and more ex-wives. But he is not a conservative and he can’t win.
The polls have said that it would be a toss-up right up until the end. They were right about that.
Maybe that’s why I’m not bothered. I realized early that the ‘win’ in Iowa wasn’t important (unless it was a blow-out). It’s about picking up delegates and they both did well in that area.
>> Rubio is the real threat to Trump there. (NH)<<
Agreed. After Iowa a lot of people are going to shift from Kasich/Bush/Fiorina/Christie/Paul to one of the top three, and Rubio is likely to get the lion’s share of those candidates voters when they switch.
That’s the value of the Iowa vote. It cuts through the polls and demonstrates where the votes really are. This will rapidly become a three man race.
The article you read is wrong, Iowa is proportional allotment of delegates.
The net result of Iowa is that it is now a three-man race. A Cruz loss tonight would have been a disaster for him, but this win keeps him viable.
Trump needs a win in New Hampshire, badly. Rubio is in a position to lie low for a bit.
ditto
“RINO Rubio is the real threat to Trump there”.
Trump in the RCP averages is leading Cruz by 16 pts in SC and leading Cruz by 23. No one is close to Trump in NH or SC. But with that said, all the republican estabishment in SC has either endorsed Rubio or Bush. Linda Graham has endorsed Bush. Gowdy and Tim Scott have endorsed Rubio. The days of the SC GOP being conservative are over. It is controlled by establishment types. Look for the worthless RINO Haley to endorse Rubio real soon. She wants a job just in case he becomes president. Hopefully the very conservative republican voters of SC will stick to their guns and cast a vote for the man they know can shake things up in Washington and that’s Donald Trump. Cruz can’t win NH and has no shot in SC.
Amen, Jeb is done!
Well said Yash. You didn’t mention, but I will, that FR protocol is to address your message to every person mentioned by name in your post.
I suppose demshategod might skip this courtesy when he/she calls the owner a “liar”.
Man, Cruz’s supporters act like they’ve never been here before, hmmm? What beautiful music they make ...
Count Chucula of the Great White North manages to win as many delegates as Trump in a western state, and it’s as if they won the war, the lottery and the general election!
Well, they’ve had a lot of reasons to be blue. The causes for those reasons unfortunately still exist.
Get it out of your systems, children of the night. The chances are pretty good that you won’t be here again.
Because he's not very charismatic.
Because he appeals only to the base.
Because Americans have always been wary of sectarian religious candidates.
Because Hillary is ruthless and he doesn't have the guts to get down in the gutter and fight dirty.
I think Trump is the only guy running who can guarantee a GOP win. Cruz and the rest who appeal only to the dwindling Republican base need Hillary to make plenty of mistakes or be indicted. Only Trump will hit Hillary hard while appealing to swing voters, minorities and the working class to build a new patriotic GOP coalition.
That will be $25 to Free Republic from you, courtesy of the Ted Cruz win.
Thank you for your support!
That was when this was a conservative website. It’s a liberal site since it’s infested with sycophants of a liberal demagogue.
And now you are calling JimRob a liar?
He’s really not up 22 points at all since voting hasn’t started.
...in Iowa.
But why wouldn't that help him in a socially liberal state? I'm a realist. Trump will have problems in very conservative states. Conversely, Cruz will have problems in very liberal states.
New Hampshire is socially liberal and that helps Trump and hurts Cruz. That's all I'm saying.
Oh, you mean where he says Republicans don’t care if people are dying in the streets? THAT persona?
Trump wants to be president. Cruz wants to have a country to be president of.
He lost didn’t he?? Everybody said Cruz was going to lose. But Trump Lost.. He is the Loser!!!
