I think you are right about Trump supporters. They allowed themselves to become invested in this man heart and soul.
He became their idol, their leader, their father figure and their savior.
Trump is quite enthusiastic about winning this race, of course, it’s his next Big Deal.
But he has other Big Deals to go on to. It’s gonna take a while for the more avid Trump supporters here to get over it if he loses.
I’m a Trump fan here and already over it!
It’s Iowa.
Cruz 8
Trump 7
On to New Hampshire and South Carolina where Trump has big leads.
I thought Carson would endorse Cruz, but not sure if this is true:

It would be like when Palin announced ..finally...she wasn’t running. People took that very very hard because like with Trump they were deeply invested in her...many still are I think.
I’m very glad Cruz won tonight....and I know that though he’d like to win NH as well he hasn’t invested as much there as he was in the south....but we shall see how that goes in the days ahead.
Meanwhile thanking God for this hurdle that Cruz just went over..and the race continues on....
I support both Trump and Cruz for different reasons. So either way, it was a good night for me. I do think (unless something changes) that Trump will get the nomination. This is my first post but I have been reading (and donating) for a few years. This vitriol has been a bummer to read for a few weeks. If Cruz took it, well, he was my original choice anyway.
Anybody but the communists.
“But he has other Big Deals to go on to.”
Not really.
He’s failed at just about everything he’s done.
Except being a professional celebrity in the Kardashian mode.
