Nope. Fasting is not a punishment, it is merely refraining from eating in order to focus on prayer and communing with God.

I don’t believe the Bible’s reason for fasting is to punish ones self. I think it has more to do with purification, but in any case, it sure isn’t anything near chopping ones limbs off.
