Donald Trump on Sunday repeatedly slammed his chief presidential rival Sen. Ted Cruz as a "total liar" as the Texas senator and his allies have claimed in the final stretch to the Iowa caucuses that Trump favors government-run, universal health care.
Cruz, meanwhile, pressed forward Sunday with the line of attack, proclaiming: "A vote for Donald Trump is a vote for Obamacare."
"Look, Ted Cruz is a total liar. I am so against Obamacare. I've been saying it for two years in my speeches, I'm going to repeal and replace Obamacare," Trump said on ABC's "This Week." "I don't even know where he gets this."
Trump on Sunday strongly pushed back at Cruz and his allies' claims that he supports government-run, universal health care, noting that he says in nearly each campaign speech he gives that "Obamacare is a total disaster" and that he would "repeal and replace" Obama's signature health care law with something "terrific."

This would be kind of going back to the status quo ante Obamacare, except now hospitals wonât have to eat it.Exactly. And that should lower the cost across board for everyone.
That sounds like a disincentive for insurance companies to sell to people in states they don't currently do business in rather than an incentive. Even if I wanted to buy from them why would they want to sell to me?
Sometimes one of these (/s) comes in handy FRiend :)
Politics is a rough business. Maybe your boy ain’t up to the task.
Exactly. Add to that the additional work for the accounts receivable department in the hospital and costs aren’t going down.
That's OK. There is no shame in admitting you don't know. But should you change your mind let me offer a scenario. I live in metro Kansas City. There is a health insurance company doing business in South Dakota but not Missouri. Why would I want to buy my insurance from them, and why would they want to sell insurance to me?
Trump would just love to off load all Trump Enterprise’s insurance to the taxpayers.
That is what Obama-care promised, hasn’t work out to well has it? Just like every Socialist that ever existed, it isn’t the system that’s the problem, it’s folks in charge. Trump will make the trains run on time, I’m convinced of it, he said so and he’s an awesome businessman you know.
CNN and the Media Cartel are loving this Trump Cruz fight.
Whatever happens, the media cartel gets a better chance at driving down the Republican nominee, or better yet, getting Jeb in place.
“Who defines âindigentâ?”
Your tax return....
If you are completely ignorant of the workings of the free market, I question your commitment to and knowledge of the principles of conservatism. For someone who claims to heart Cruz so much, that’s amazingly lame.
Good day.
I just think Trump is a lousy candidate.
“Your tax return....”
So, you are saying the progressive tax code determines the cradle-to-grave entitlements. Punish the achievers. And they will find a way to game the system.
Trump will change it to Trumpicare. His moronic fans will eat it up.
I was being nice instead of just bluntly saying, “you’d have to be an idiot not to understand that ‘universal coverage’ can only ultimately lead one place: single payer full-blown socialized medicine.”
“Donald Trump: Theyâre going to be taken care of. I would make a deal with existing hospitals to take care of people. And, you know what, if this is probablyâ
Scott Pelley: Make a deal? Who pays for it?
Donald Trump: âthe governmentâs gonna pay for it.”
That is clearly not single payer. It is no more universal health care than what we already have, in which taxpayers end up paying for those that are not covered, one way or another.
Trump speaks in glittering generalities. Everything he will do will be terrific, great, etc. Never question him on specifics.
Trump never said that government was going to pay for everybody. But he did say the poor would be taken care of.
Trump never said that government was going to pay for everybody. But he did say the poor would be taken care of.
What a laugh. That term belongs squarely to Mr. Open Borders Cruz. Trump is the antithesis of a Benedict Arnold.
While Trump is trying to stop the traitorous open borders lobby of Republican party, i.e. Roger Ailes, Mudoch, WSJ from immigrating this country out of existence, Cruz, Bush, Rubio, Kasich et al rake in campaign donations from this group.
Your definition of a Benedict Arnold is strange indeed. Is everything upside down in your world?
