This isn't about Trump. It's about Cruz...

Actually it is about Trump, because the question is was this a random error or an error of judgment and why did Cruz commit it and Trump didn't. It can tell us a lot about what kind of Presidency they will run.

If Trump is as good a chief executive as he holds himself out to be he controls far less then Cruz does, but he does control the big things, like who are the key people who are making decisions and executing things on his behalf. You worry about what business you are in and what business you are not in.

You fix bugs and stand behind features. Unfortunately, Cruz is telling us that this mailing was a feature, not a bug. What maladroit actions will his administration undertake when he is President? Will he clear out the top of the government and put good people in charge - people he can trust not to embarrass him with the people's power and trust? Does he have no one he can listen to who can tell him how stupid this is and what the ramifications will be.

Grania said it isn’t about Trump. I think s/he’s right. Cruz did this. Trump has nothing to do with it.

That’s just it. Cruz doesn’t have ‘’random’’ errors of judgement. It’s a pretty consistent pattern. Lying by omission about multiple things concerning himself, H1Bs, TPA/ TPP, (at least defacto) amnesty for illegals, parsing the 14th Amendment re birthright citizenship (agenda here?), Corker. . . there’s at least one other major thing that I’ve forgotten.

He does these things that are *obviously* contrary to the interests of the American people & the health of the country- then he comes up with these bizarre ‘’explanations’’/ rationalizations to try & get out of the controversy he has created. Or he stonewalls.

That’s a goood question & a valid concern. Both wrt to maladroit actions and putting good people in charge. Who are his associates & allies NOW? Mike Lee, Jeff Sessions, & Sarah Palin have moved away.

The second part of your second sentence is double-edged; first on it’s face, but also in the context of CYA. After 0bama, sometimes Dubya, & certainly Clinton, people who are ‘’good’’ & ‘’trusted’’ can also mean that they will be an impermeable front regardless of what’s actually going on for good or ill.

WILL Cruz listen to advice? Not if he’s to be believed concerning the situation with McConnell ‘’lying’’ to him. Allegedly, his staffers ‘’tried to tell him’’ & he went ahead anyway.

A group of campaign staffers allegedly quit almost/ or the day before this mailer went out. Was the mailer WHY they quit? I doubt we’ll ever know. Anyway, there was some type of conflict for a group to quit like that.

This gels with the things his classmates in college said regarding his personality. People usually do grow & change as they get older, but if the shoe fits, you have to wonder.
