Looks like Ted is in deep trouble.
I close the curtain since how I vote is private. I smell Lunatic Beck all over this.
Of course. Because they’ve learned from Trump not to back down and apologize in the face of criticism. But to double down instead.
The difference is of course, that Trump doesn’t do really stupid things.
I would be outraged at this violation of my privacy
Wow, just wow! I would have never thought that Cruz had the Stalin gene, but there it is.
I wouldn’t appreciate it at all. Makes me look like I’ve done something wrong.
Were he to apologize it would make no difference. This is really dumb and can only hurt him further.
Did the Final Iowa Poll come out BEFORE this news hit the fan? OR do the results of the poll reflect this mailing fiasco?
Wow, This is the real Ted. This was a very offensive mailing. Especially coming from a guy who claims to be a privacy advocate and against NSA data collecting.
He doesn’t seem to see how bad that looks. People are weary of this kind of thing and I also believe they have tired of an over abundance of negative ads.
This will be remembered as the day the Cruz candidacy died.
Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate says in a statement that there's "no such thing" as an election violation related to voting frequency and that insinuating otherwise is "not in keeping in the spirit of the Iowa Caucuses.
So there
Sending out a deceptive mailing likely to scare old people is “normal,” huh, Ted?
Clearly, this kind of thing has been done before in other’s campaigns - and it’s been scummy THEN, too.
I think sending this out is low, dirt-bag politics, but defending it as “normal” is even worse than sending it in the first place.
I used to think Cruz would be a great choice for VP. Not now.
A Cruz or Trump supporter. I think this to-do about the mailer is a bigger laugh than anything.
In the people’s republic of NY that would be just tossed in the circular file along with all political mailers. The same can be said for almost all TV ads. Slime? Sure.....and everyone does it.
I recommend Iowans offended by a piece of paper get a life, look at the real accomplishments of the candidates and remember that this is mild compared to political slime from years gone past.
For all your postal employees, mail handler, and neighbors to see that you are under investigation for voter fraud.
Wonderful decision, Ted.
This was dumb, but it’s too late in the game to admit so in public is what your handlers are telling you is the right answer.
They are wrong. The right answer is to apologize and show that consequences have happened. Restitution is the best. I’d say another mailer saying that it was a mistake driven by a desire to increase turnout, and that you are sorry.
Have the envelope as large with the words “Sorry” on the front.
Just another thing I would get an “A” in. I welcome these in my town.
