It isn’t Iowa’s fault that Santorum and Huckabee didn’t raise enough money or build ground games in the following primary states.
politically speaking, iowans are spoiled, coddled, and self obsessed by their “prominence” in the electoral process. over the years, it has skewed their judgement. the winner in iowa isn’t usually the politician that was right on the most issues, it’s usually the politician that kissed the most ass.
add to that that iowa is a caucus state — which is to say they choose their presidential candidates in a small scale riot — and the cavalcade of iowan foolishness is complete.
