No. I am not. Read the words of the Constitution and the Amendments. I do not make the rules. Natural born citizen is defined as citizen born of citizens. Both parents need to be citizens at the time of birth and the birth needs to be on US soil. There have been shadings over the years, exceptions for diplomats and people on America’s business(military etc). The post you are responding to was clarifying the 1790/1795 Acts. There is no act that says that one citizen parent and a second parent who has not been resident (committed to obtaining citizenship) can pass on natural born citizenship to a child.

In the history of America citizenship descended through the father. In fact a woman marrying a foreign national lost her citizenship upon the marriage during the early years of our Nation’s history.

Show me the naturalization card... Show me when he was naturalized...

He wasn’t.

He was born a citizen. Citizen from birth.

This is an utter ridiculous distraction. Let’s focus on true issues: universal healthcare. Shrinking the government. Restoring the Consisution.

Instead your cowardly joke of a candidate wants to spin his lemmings off on any tangent except his record.

Because he a narcissist whom has you completely fooled on whom he is. If he succeeds in deceiving you and causing you to waste your vote, and he manages to win the nomination, he’s going to be the biggest establishment lap dog you’ve ever seen, sprinting towards the left to attempt to fool the entire electorate.

Why is Cruz not a “natural born” citizen? Specifics.

According to US law, he is a natural born citizen of the United States of America.

He is a citizen of Canada and maybe Cuba by birth also. He is a citizen by virtue of an act of congress. He is naturalized.

The requirements are not as strict as you would like to argue.

They certainly are, notice that even the contingency of someone born here to citizen parents was not enough for the Founders. They put in an additional requirement to disqualify a child born here and taken abroad unless they had returned for a substantial period of time.

I do not find that the British historic law is as you have stated. Clearly to be natural born required the parents (father) to have been under the allegiance of the king.

"To encourage also foreign commerce, it was enacted by statute 25 Edw. III. st. 2. that all children born abroad, provided both their parents were at the time of the birth in allegiance to the king, and the mother had passed the seas by her husband's consent, might inherit as if born in England: and accordingly it hath been so adjudged in behalf of merchants.

But by several more modern statutes these restrictions are still farther taken off: so that all children, born out of the king's ligeance, whose fathers were natural-born subjects, are now natural-born subjects themselves, to all intents and purposes, without any exception; unless their said fathers were attainted, or banished beyond sea, for high treason; or were then in the service of a prince at enmity with Great Britain."

It is clear that personality cult members do not care about much more than following the orders of their Dear Leader.

Somebody posted this on another thread. There is no way in the world Cruz is a NBC American. Cruz is a NBC Canadian, but not NBC American.

Show Cruz’s American birth certificate or Consular certificate confirming his citizenship.

The folks crusading against this are not doing Cruz or America any favors. If we are going to change the requirements for the Presidency or amend the definition of NBC then let’s do it above board not by having tantrums and attacking people to shut them up.

Well we assume he is, Cruz has yet to prove it. No wonder Cruzers want to “focus on the issues.”
