It is always helpful to find Jesus yet again when selling to a room full of Christians.

Could you show us some example of that support? Preferably other than the 2000 interview where Trump felt cornered and weakly acquiesced only to have the epiphany that began his journey to his pro life position.

http://www.ontheissues.org/Celeb/Donald_Trump_Abortion.htm

I changed my views to pro-life based on personal stories
Q: Evangelicals want to feel secure that they’re going to have a nominee that’s solid on those social issues.

A: One thing about me, I’m a very honorable guy. I’m pro-life, but I changed my view a number of years ago. One of the primary reasons I changed [was] a friend of mine’s wife was pregnant, and he didn’t really want the baby. He was crying as he was telling me the story. He ends up having the baby and the baby is the apple of his eye. It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to him. And you know here’s a baby that wasn’t going to be let into life. And I heard this, and some other stories, and I am pro-life.

Q: So those stories did change you, they came around and changed you?

A: They changed me. Yeah, they changed my view as to that, absolutely.

I know all about the fake “epiphany” of Trump. I don’t believe him because he has a long history of a pattern of liberalism and now claiming the opposite:
Called for gun control the same way many Democrats are.
Called for universal healthcare.
Donated to numerous Democrats.
Took money from George Soros.
Praised Hillary Clinton
Praised deBlasio.
Praised Obama.

And re: “Preferably other than the 2000 interview where Trump felt cornered”

Was he “cornered” when he wrote in his book, “I support a woman’s right to choose, but I am uncomfortable with the procedures.”

All of this stuff you claim bothers you about other candidates doesn’t bother you about Trump - now why is that? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Enw6Yx19qSg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rcUCLwWCihE

You’re going to have to explain away a lot more than that:

And here he is literally attacking conservatives and what we stand for from the campaign stage - in THIS campaign, not “past statements”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRQgAEqLUmQ&list=PLJcbhHQDR9da0H3-Qs-7WEEj6tam9vlh3

You know so many things but so few of them are factual and the lengths to which you have stretched the truth are remarkable.

GOP presidential hopeful Donald Trump is a lifetime member of the NRA and a concealed carry permit holder who believes the advantages an armed citizenry provides to America are so evident as to be beyond “debate.”
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/07/07/donald-trump-lifetime-member-of-nra-concealed-permit-holder/
http://www.ontheissues.org/Celeb/Donald_Trump_Gun_Control.htm

Universal Heathcare. This is a very dishonest statement. In 2000 Trump stated that some countries had done well with Nationalized healthcare but that it would not work in America. Since the earliest internet articles in 2000, Trump has pushed for increased competition by insurance companies across state lines in the healthcare market and health savings accounts; his approach is pure free market. His reference to Universal care is a statement that there needs to be a saftey net so that no one is without any form of healthcare. People have shamelessly perverted that into stating that trump is for one payer healthcare and nothing could be further from the truth.
http://www.ontheissues.org/Celeb/Donald_Trump_Health_Care.htm

Trump donated much more to Republicans than Democrats over the years The Truth will set you free. Since 2012 Trump has given almost nothing to the Democratic side.

“We went to two authoritative databases of campaign finance data to examine Ferguson’s numbers: OpenSecrets.org, to find federal donations, and FollowtheMoney.org, for state-level donations.

Trump has actually been relatively evenhanded in doling out cash to the two parties, but since 1989, he’s contributed over $350,000 more to Republicans running for federal and state offices, campaign finance records show.

Data from the Federal Election Commission and state elections offices provided by the two websites show that Trump has given $584,850 to Democrats and $961,140 to the GOP over the last 26 years.

The difference in donations is almost entirely captured in Trump’s recent giving. Since 2012, Trump has donated $463,450 to Republicans and just $3,500 to Democrats (California Attorney General Kamala Harris and New York Assemblyman Michael Benedetto).”

1989-2011
Republicans $497,690 Democrats $581,350
2012-present
Republicans $463,450 Democrats $3,500

http://www.politifact.com/punditfact/statements/2015/jul/09/ben-ferguson/donald-trumps-campaign-contributions-democrats-and/

Soros invested in Trump’s buildings. This is news and noteworthy why? Lastly praise...Trump speaks well of people until they give him reason to do otherwise. Bonhomie is one of his stocks in trade.

On Trump saying Obama has accomplished a great deal in getting elected I am reminded of the words of Olivander..”We do not speak his name! The wand chooses the wizard, Mr. Potter. It’s not always clear why. But I think it is clear that we can expect great things from you. After all, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things. Terrible! Yes. But great.”

No that is exactly the position he had prior to 2000. Many men at that time felt they were not entitled to tell women what to do with their bodies. Trump had a crisis of conscience and realized that he was unable to continue with that position after the interview with Tim Russert in 1999.

From the On the Issues you link: “I generally oppose gun control, but I support the ban on assault weapons and I support a slightly longer waiting period to purchase a gun.”

Yes, THAT is the same long slow creep of gun control that the left has been trying to wedge in. Oh, that’s right the NY liberal says something different now that he wants the vote from the GOP.

Trump Calls for Universal Healthcare
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-UgWUMyqNM
and
Trump: I Love Universal Healthcare
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyFeNEbn2es

Soros investing in Trump buildings is “news and noteworthy” because that back-stabber hypocrite attacked Cruz for a loan he took with GS.

I don’t care that he donated to both sides. His money helped elect far-left Democrats and padded the Clinton foundation’s coffers.

Try again.

No need. We will not convince each other but I believe we are united in our concern for America and in the things we hope may be accomplished in the next Presidency.

That phony “crisis of conscience” is unacceptable because he has a long history of liberalism. One flip-flop is possibly understandable but one after another after another after another is not. That conman is phonier than a three dollar bill.

One day he claims he will stop illegals and the next he says he will expedite them right back in.

Then, to buy votes in Iowa he promises ethanol pork.

“No need. We will not convince each other but I believe we are united in our concern for America and in the things we hope may be accomplished in the next Presidency.”

To that we agree. But I also believe, electing a liberal to the left of the GOP establishment wastes one of the last opportunities to save our nation.

I think Trump is a very practical man, not an ideologue. I do not think he is a liberal although some of his positions are less conservative than mine. I don’t think the positions “liberal” vs “republican” are very important to him in and of themselves since he is a man not a politician. His beliefs cross the party lines and that is one reason why he has such support from Americans of both parties.

Trump clearly loves our country. I think that he is good at getting things accomplished and at delegating to and getting advice from the right people. He is a fighter and a dealmaker, respected in the business community.

I am not looking for a saint or a purist. I would be so happy to have a country with borders, a country where our military was strong and our veterans respected and treated fairly, a country where we are ruled by laws and not the whims of a self styled dictator, a country where the incursions of Government into healthcare, education and the details of our everyday lives could start to be retrenched.

I feel like there is plenty to be accomplished, that would be best accomplished by Trump. He has his priorities and for the most part they are mine. There are more nuanced battles and honestly I had hoped that someone like Cruz could be the second wave to address some of the more ideological issues. First however we have a real battle on our hands and much ground that must be regained to make America strong again.
