Conservatives with poor voting records need to get themselves snapped out of it. The normal tactics clearly haven’t worked for them so they need some tough love.
[they need some tough love]
I doubt if this letter is going make non-voters set their clocks to get to the caucus on time.
I am surprised that a conservative would advocate such a thing. No true conservative appreciates big brother trying to coerce him into doing anything. My reaction would be very, very negative to something like this. Quoting from a young conservative, “I nicked the census man.”
You aren’t helping Cruz here. Like, at all.
That would not motivate me to vote for him. That would motivate me to vote against him.
If it was his intention to get out the vote, he should have used the mailer to ask the person to please consider coming out to vote for him. He should have tried to empathize with their problems getting to the poll. It’s too cold, interrupts family time, he knows they are too worn out from work, whatever. Play it up but encourage them by saying Cruz wants to undo all Obama has done and he needs their help. Send it to the specific individual without including information on the neighbors. Give them a real reason to feel a part of the Cruz team and get out and vote.
What the Cruz campaign did makes no sense. I don’t know who is advising him, but they are either brain dead or intentionally trying to ruin his campaign.
You’re kind of creepy, too.
Why not send a mailer with a direct plea for their vote and why they should vote for the candidate? Duh.....
Mailing a person’s personal voting history to his/her closest neighbors is not tough love. It is a manipulative and jerkish attempt to intimidate a person. It might have worked on Obama’s herd mentality voters, but it will blow up monumentally with IA Republicans.
Conservatives with poor voting records need to get themselves snapped out of it. The normal tactics clearly havenât worked for them so they need some tough love. And I thought Ted was the creep.
Justify anything, eh? The ends justifies the means? So, if Cruz’ cabal of thugs next decides to tap their phones, go through their trash, or perhaps even threaten them with a visit from one of his commie Cuban operatives to show some “tough love” - that would be OK with you. Now I understand why I am coming to despise Cruz and his supporters.
Is self serving public humiliation the Christian thing to do? Or, to put it differently, should the pastor stand in front of the congregation and read the name of each member and how much each gives yearly to the church?
Moreover, voting is a choice. Not voting makes as much of a statement as voting. Sending out this card is disgustingly presumptuous that the candidate is owed your support, except for the laziness on your part. Whether it works or not is not the point. It is wrong and it certainly is not Christian.
