Total hyperbole. This is a totally silly, inconsequential issue with a shelf-life that will probably last another hour or so. We elect a candidate based on what they’re going to do for the country, not based on the format of a campaign mailer. The people who got this mailer needed it. It wasn’t directed at random voters, just chronic no-shows who needed some tough love.
I have no need to look for another candidate because Cruz is THE guy. There’s no one else out there as great as him. He’s the second coming of Reagan and he has my support until someone else as smart, well-spoken and principled as Reagan or Gingrich comes along.
Vote for Cruz. Just don’t try to defend this stunt. There is no way to justify this kind of mailer. None.
Boy you have a very twisted sense of right and wrong. People are free to vote or free not to vote. No one should be shamed publicly by a candidate because they didn't participate in a Caucus 4 years ago. Maybe they were on vacation or out of town or WORKING! Or maybe there was just no one they cared to waste their time caucusing for.
I think you are the only one on this forum that is trying to defend this stupid mailer. It was stupid. Deal with it.
So why are you the only poster defending it? Where are the other Cruz supporters justifying this?
Give up already! Is there anybody on this thread supporting you? You’re coming off like a desperate loon, another Baghdad Bob. Quit trolling the thread.
No, this is most likely fatal for the Cruz campaign. This is only a couple hours old, and is already as viral as viral can be. I suspect by noon tomorrow, Cruz will be down in the low single digits in Iowa, and by noon on Tuesday he'll be announcing that his campaign is over.
This is worse than the Howard Dean blowout. At least they dude waited until he won something.
The only possible explanation is that Cruz got talked into hiring some former Romney campaign people. Those creeps are famous for sabotaging campaigns from the inside. Maybe Glenn Beck had something to do with it.
Can't wait to hear the excuses tomorrow.
Yes, we do. What they do now serves as a window into what they will do in office.
This is a highly unethical tactic. I don't want a president who has so little respect for Americans and our ways.
I was voting in the FR Caucus Poll, until a few days ago. I had a good reason for failing to vote. I appreciate that nobody has sent out a FReepmail admonishing me, and telling my fellow FReepers about my failure. It's public knowledge. Anybody can look at the threads and know when I voted and when I didn't. I still wouldn't like a public shaming like the one Cruz just dished out.
I'm ready to vote in the caucus again, and I'll be changing my vote today.
I have two letters of appreciation for stuff I did long, long ago from President Ronald Reagan that are among my most treasured possessions. No one is a bigger fan of President Reagan than I am. Cruz has many good points and I admire him on many levels, but he doesn't hold a candle to President Reagan. I might give you Gingrich. ; )
